Let's Close Out the Weekend ....

Saturday night was the 7th Annual Santa Run I have led, planned, etc. and am in the process of turning over to someone new to do it. That meant some changes to things, which I particularly didn't care for, but I am not doing this after this year, so why should I care? We had a total of 8 people show up. We had close to 32 on the original list, and winnowed down those that couldn't make it, to about 20. We needed about 16 to make back the money spent on the bus. Eight showed up. There were at least 3-4 that had pre-paid that didn't bother to show, and several were last minute "I'm not going to make it". So the 8 of went out still. At the final bar, we didn't even go in. it was about 12:15am, and we had the bus for another hour, but I said I was taking a Lyft. I was done. Nauseous, the whole abdomen pressure thing ... I was done. And sober. It was decided we just call it a night and all took the bus back, where I went straight home.

Around 8:30am, I had the Wife drop me off at the ER for a draining. She stayed about an hour, but I told her to go, as we both know it will take a bit to get through ER and services, no since both of us wasting our day. Drained out 14.1 liters this time (last drain was exactly 2 weeks ago). No fluid in chest cavity, so no need to hold me longer. Wife picked me up around 2 or so.

We did dinner tonight as a belated birthday one for the Wife. She chose Olive Garden. My taste buds and everything have been off during this whole liver thing, and tonight it was a bit worse. Everything I ate (salad, tour of Italy, breadstick) all tasted "off" in some manner. But the Wife enjoyed, and the Youngest came with us.

I have one last Riders meeting this month, tomorrow night. I'll head there after going out to visit the Sister. She was finally removed from the hospital to a rehab facility as of today. I missed being discharged from the ER and visiting her at the same hospital by about an hour. She has a supposed stay at the rehab of two weeks - hoping for faster recovery, and it is shorter, with the holiday coming up and all.

This week will consist of the final presents being bought (read: gift cards) and the start of the wrapping. Since the Wife does most of the shopping, I only have a handful of things to wrap. Too bad I have no clue who gets what, otherwise I would get stuck wrapping more.

Youngest's new computer arrived today. Right now he is just opening it up and hooking  things up and preparing to download his games/programs/services.

Guess that does pretty much round out the weekend. Til next time...

Time For a Drug Run

I'm up a bit early today. Did the normal take the pill and in bed by around 10p, and slept until about a 530a, so not 8 hours, but a good 6 at least. I woke feeling ready to face the day, rather than groggy and tired from not sleeping well.

Today is a drug run day, meaning I need to get to Walgreens to pick up yet another prescription. I received a call about Wednesday of last week from Walgreens, it was automated of course, saying my regular prescriptions would be ready this week. Regular? I thought they all were, and I didn't have any "special" ones... I don't know. I know Friday I received a text that one of the seven prescriptions was ready, and that one I will pick up today. I need to ask about another, as I am down to only 4 pills, as to when it will be ready. Then I'm going to ask about getting them all scheduled for one day to pick them all up versus this every week through the month thing. I used to have it that way, but with new 'scripts and getting them approved by insurance, etc, it has spread them all out again.

Weekend wasn't bad. I ended up Saturday at the Post, later than my usual, but still had a good time. Was requested to karaoke the Grinch song, and it went over well. Sunday was the Wife's birthday. I spent the afternoon lazily playing games on the computer. In the evening, I took her out to Texas Roadhouse, as we had some gift cards to use. The Wife and Youngest had left to pick up his girlfriend, and I was meeting them at the restaurant, and after putting in our names, realized I forgot the gift cards at home. Well, guess that means we got to go another time to use them. Oldest Son was able to join for dinner, though the other kids could not. It was good to catch up a bit with him and things going on in his life. I did let him know Christmas options, and he will have to get back to me.

This coming Saturday is the 6th Annual Santa Run that my buddy and I started. Oldest Son is looking forward to it (he is one of the originals from the start) as we get to share some time together. I pretty much organized the whole thing this year, as my buddy had other things going on. Which means I paid for the party bus we will use for transportation. So I am hoping (and by my approximate count) we get at least 15 guys this year (I estimate about 18 from 'verbal yeses') so that will cover the cost. Anything above the cost will be driver tip, and extra shot round for the Santas. I may even pocket a small cost for the candy canes that we give out as well (I buy them each year and am never reimbursed). So, I'm a little nervous about this getting started and collecting the monies.

Guess that is all I got to share this morning....

Wednesday Shenanigans

Sunday night was bad. I was lucky if I got a total of two hours of sleep. But I did start work as early as possible that morning. Monday evening I was dragging from lack of sleep, and went out for a bit, had a few beers, knowing I would sleep good that night. I did, and Tuesday morning found me at work later than I wanted, but still made it there. Thank goodness for a flexible time schedule. Project is expected to end this week, but it is rumored there is another one I will be switched to at that time. We will see ...

Today marks The Wife's birthday. She has finally caught up to my age (again). I asked her last night about when and where she would like to do a bday dinner. I have no answer, so who knows if we are going out tonight or not. Trying to get the kids all together is hard, and I don't see it happening at this time.

Oldest Son is looking to spend some time at the house with me tomorrow. Seems he is taking his car into the shop for a couple fix-its, and asked for a ride to/from so he won't have to sit in the lobby there. I'll have to work, but he can sit and chat while I am working. Or he may just go lay down and sleep through it all.

Guess that's it for now. I should start working now.
