The Race is On ...

The past couple days or so, it seems RM and I have been waking earlier than our alarms. I'm talking like two hours ahead for me, and at least an hour for RM. Either way, it has seemed like a race to see who is able to get their post for the day up, for the other to read. I might win today. Not that there is any prize, just some 'friendly competition'. After all, you cannot write good, quality, poignant posts if you are just typing away.

Either way, it is Sunday morning, and I woke about 5am. Laid there for about 20 minutes before ceding the wake-up. Will see later how the Wife is doing, if she is going to go to church this morning or not. IF she is, I would like to go, but I am in enough discomfort with the abdomen distended right now, I kind of do not want to go. Thank goodness I set my paracentesis appointments out like three weeks. Who knows how hard it would have been to get one this week. I have a psychologist meeting for Mayo on Wednesday. Next Wednesday is some bloodwork, nurse visit and then appointment with one of the doctors on my team. That should be it then, I hope. Well, at least enough for them to put me on the waiting list. I noticed the other day my MELD is still at 16.

I didn't do much yesterday. The Wife had a dental cleaning around 11am. I think I had mentioned a couple weeks ago, that I had tried to reach out to the dentist's office, but no one answered, and it was locked down when I stopped by there. Well, found out more specific details as to what happened. The office shares a parking lot with a cat hospital. the hospital had been broken into, trashed, etc. Also fairly recently, the dentist office had had someone(s) steal the4 copper wiring/piping from the A/C unit. Insurance covered and repaired that, then it happened again. I guess the insurance isn't going to cover it again, especially so soon after the first time. So the Dentist is working out of another dental office, just a couple miles further from our house, a couple days of the week, to keep what clientele they can as they decide what to do. This other dental office is owned by the Dentist's brother, also a dentist. The Wife said she got the impression from the Dentist that he is going to close the office, and just practice with his brother at this other location. I am not sure I even like this guy. I may shop around for a dentist I won't freak out about (I truly dislike dentists in general - I think it the whole 'poking a needle in me where I cannot see it'). Luckily <knocking on wood> the toothache I have had has not flared up in the past couple weeks, so I might have a little time before I need to get it done.

And the Wife brought lunch home when she finished her appointment. Some Chino Bandito!! Man, I think my 'usual' has gotten spicier! Or maybe it had been awhile since we have had Chino's. I could only eat half. Did the other half for dinner. Still have some hamburgers and hot dogs from the other night. Yeah, the Wife and may not have to cook at all today as well! I do need to get the Agenda done for the Riders meeting tomorrow night, but there isn't much to really put on there so shouldn't take too long.

I think I will kill some time this morning playing a video game. Oh, and here is some music, because of the post title ...

Man, I watched that video (music starts about the 1:40 mark) and the 80's hair styles....

Only The Gray Ones ...

... are the ones I want to get cut. That means a full haircut these days. I have an IOP session this morning, then nothing until evening time for a House Comm. meeting. I did get the Agenda done on Sunday and sent out. Then yesterday, the Chair sends an email out of two more items to be discussed. Seems some calls came in yesterday (after I sent the Agenda). Sigh. I didn't revise. It's all new business so I will just add to the Minutes as such.

IOP - we are down to one week left. The 9th is my last session, and I 'graduate'. Once I get the letter and certificate, I will forward on to Mayo Clinic, and have them review things to be sure all the items that were deferred before are completed. The ones under my control, I have marked off my copy of the list (8-week IOP, AA meetings, vaccinations). The vaccinations they said could actually be done while I am on the waiting list, and I probably should get the meningitis done, but the couple Walgreens near me are out of it, and so is my PCP's office. I am mixed about completing this IOP. I actually have learned quite a bit that has helped me change my outlook on Life, and how to be more self-aware. But I don't want to pay more money to extend the time. Besides, I don't think there is much more they cover that hasn't been done this past 7 weeks.

I am getting a haircut today. I have been saying that for a week now, but when I have the time to do it, I forget to go. I don't schedule my haircuts at a salon, but just use Great Clips services. I plan to do it this afternoon.

I have been having a toothache off and on for the past couple months - since the last appointment I had with the dentist. It isn't his fault. He had me start using a water pik, and I think it did so well, that when I use it between certain teeth, it found the sore spot. So it will flare up for several hours to a day, then fade away for multiple days at a time - always when I need to schedule the deep cleaning he wants to do, and a couple extractions - the one that hurts was a later on down the line one. I had been waiting to hear about the disability getting approved so I can pay for the work being done, and now it is here, I need to get things scheduled. The dentist has some unconventional hours, and are not open until Wednesday (they are open on Saturdays though), so that will be a call first thing tomorrow.

Welp, I guess that's all I have today. I need to call and cancel my paracentesis that is scheduled for Wednesday, and move it to the end of June to keep my "rolling appointment" until I need it.

I'm Waiting ....

at 11:30pm for the pill I just took to kick in. This pill is my 'sleep aid' when I have problems sleeping (like tonight). I give about 15 more minutes until it starts, so I'll ramble on about stuff until then.

Tuesday. I have my IOP this morning. Walgreens has a prescription pick up ready for me for one of the ones I have been out of for two days now. I had a blood draw at Mayo on Monday morning. Drove 25 minutes, for a 3-minute procedure, and drove 20 minutes back home. I don't get it sometimes....

Auxiliary meeting is tonight at the Post. The agenda and last month's minutes were sent earlier this evening so I have yet to read them. Will do that after the IOP.

Dentist wants me to get a 'deep cleaning' done. Can do top and bottom on one side, then a couple weeks later the other side. I guess they numb you up real good, and go to town on descaling plaque. Well, me might be moving an extraction before that now. The past couple days, my back molar has started ringing it's pain alert - especially caused by the water pik (the dentist told me to get one) every night when I use it there. Hence the reason I am up right now. They are not open until Wednesday, unless it is an emergency, which I don't think is bad enough to qualify even though it is quite bad.

I think I will do the draining this Wednesday as well. Been feeling quite a bit of pressure and the abdomen  has filled out. I weighed myself tonight, and if I am at the 237 I was at 3 weeks ago, then I have about 6-7 liters to be drained. I have been eating better, so that could be a lower number amount to be drained. <shrug>.

Okay, I am headed to bed to be knocked out.

Sunday Rest Day

I wore myself out yesterday, but it was a good thing. Went to the dentist for my 8am, and walked out after the exam with a very expensive list of things to get completed. Of course, this is all the things they think I need done. I'm all for extractions, but will have to see which teeth in particular need to be removed.

Then it was off to Walgreens. They had one partial prescription in, and it didn't complete my pillbox for this week. Rest due in this week. As well as my others ones I needed. Plus the dentist called in a fluoride toothpaste he wants me to use. From there I grabbed some breakfast sandwiches, dropped the SSA Disability questionnaires in the mail, and headed home. Found an AA group that may be a second group I attend, and did a meeting. I folded and put away my laundry, and cleaned up my side of the room a bit. Got so exerted my hands were shaking. The Wife had me stop and sit for a bit. I decided I was done for the day with getting things done. Then up to the Post for a couple hours. Came home to a nice pork loin dinner.

Late getting to sleep last night, but I didn't want to take a pill. So I am a bit groggy this morning. Not sure what is on the agenda for today - other than finishing the minutes from Tuesday's meeting.

Friday Afternoon Off

After my 3-hour IOP this morning, I am free for the rest of the day. Plans were for the Youngest and I to head out to Peoria Discount and see what they have this time around for snacks and lunches for us. I dislike picking things out for him when he is not with, as I only know some of his likes. What if wants to try something new? So I told him I was free after noon, and he is yet still in bed. He's an adult. we talked about Discount last night, so he knew what time to get up and be ready. It's 2pm... I don't think we are going today.

I may have mentioned before, but I did get the taxes filed online. I stopped at CVS and picked up my "special" medicine. Stopped at Walgreens. Explained I had heard from them in a week for prescriptions, so had her run through about 4 of them I know are ready for refill, or close, and one past that I need for next week. Today, they have one filled, two delayed, and I think it said it is too early for the 4th one. Of course the one I need for next week is a delayed one. Sigh. Insurance had "fought" the pharmacy on it, but finally okayed, they just don't have in stock.

Normally tonight would be the Riders Dinner at the Post, but we cancelled as this Bike Week AZ. In place they have the M.O.C. doing a spaghetti dinner. I don't think I will be up there at all today.

Tomorrow morning I have a dental cleaning and exam. I know I have at least two cavities, on molars, and rather than root canals and crowns, I'm just going to have them pulled. But that will be another appointment. I did look at the dental panoramic x-ray Mayo did, and it noted no gum disease and that it is noted dental work has been done before. Nothing about cavities being an infectious thing. SO do I need to have it done? Maybe not, but it is just going to start hurting at some point, and rather get it done now before the transplant.

In the mail today I received a letter from Mayo about the items the Transplant Council wanted completed prior to being on the Wait List. An MRI-Abdomen in June, treatment for Strongyloides (threadworm) and Cocci series, complete psychiatric and psychological consults in about 6 weeks, random drug testing until negative (from THC edibles I stopped in February),complete an IOP, Weekly AA meeting, and CT cardiac imaging to be reviewed by cardiologist. The Cocci and Strongyloides treatments I have already completed. I am in the IOP that should end early in June. Appointments made for the Psych consults. Drug testing is done monthly when I do blood work. I've been attending AA meetings, in fact, I need to do one probably today for the week. The CT cardio has been reviewed and at this time are not doing anything. I have a high calcium score, and some calcium build-up in the arteries. Deferment is for 3 months to get all this done (more than halfway there) then will re-evaluate with the Council.

Social Security Disability contacted me the other day and sent me some forms they need information on. One set was job history, the other was functional ability. Those are filled out and ready to go to the box at the P.O.

Oh, and RM ... I got the two packages in for PT's birthday. I got him a book I thought he would enjoy (teach him to buy me a book) and a T-shirt that has Gibb's Rules listed from NCIS. I think I got a large, so not sure how it will fit. All their sizes tend to run on the lower side of a size.

Welp, I think I covered quite a bit today. How bored are you now?

Fill(ing) in the Hole

Yesterday I took the two younger boys to the dentist for the six-month check-ups. The middle son ended up having a cavity, on one of his permanent teeth. The younger one came out with a good report. This morning, the oldest son has his turn, and I hope it comes out fine. Another reason why I am still groggy - it's not quite 7am.

After dropping the older son off to catch the school bus, I will be meeting Preacher Tom for breakfast. It has been awhile since we have met up (I think before Christmas) so will somewhat nice to get back in that habit. We are trying a new restaurant as we are getting sort of tired of Denny's. PT had once been to it, and it is called "The Place". He warned me that when he ate there with some other people, he had been warned to only do the half-size order of biscuits and gravy, as the food portions are huge. I am looking forward to that!

A couple hours after our breakfast, I will be attending a funeral. 'Bud' Morgan, a friend of several years, passed away last week. He was one of my "bar buddies" but was a great guy. Always offered me a place to stay if 'you and the wife get in a fight'. He was a great joker, and always had a story to tell, which would always be different, especially when told in that sort of Southern, slow way he talked. Bud was a Vietnam Vet, too.

Following that event, I will be back to the house for my chores. Dishes are stacked up and ready for when I get back.

Tense Morning

Just short of 10am, and I am already feeling exhausted. I had my dentist appointment this morning. One of the two root canals, and crowns, that were done over a year ago, had started giving me problems. A blister-like anomaly was occurring on my gum. After some review of an x-ray done at my cleaning a couple weeks ago, the main though was that possibly some slight debris left in one of the canals, or even a micro-channel, was there that had been missed. It is supposedly causing a slight infection around the root, which when pressure from chewing, was causing the infection fluids to be pushed to the exterior gum area. At least that is the way I understood it in basic terms from the Dr.

Today, he was drilling into the tooth again, to re-check the canals for looseness, or missed 'debris', or whatever else may be the cause of it. I was worried and tense throughout the procedure, as they were not numbing me up. Even though he had reassured me that the tooth was nerveless since the root canal. I guess it is the pessimist in me, that if there was something there that was going to hurt, they would find it. Happily I admit that there was no pain or discomfort during the whole procedure. The bad news is, everything is good. Doc explained what all he was doing, and all the work was solid, with no signs of the cause. My shoulders and neck are a bit sore though from me being so tensed up, waiting for that bad moment, which never came.

Next treatment: waiting. Doc feels that the problem may actually be a fractured root on the tooth (but he is unable to confirm that with the x-rays they have). An endodontist has the capability to do a 3-D x-ray of the area, with better clarification, to verify if this is the exact problem. However, Doc says what is best for the immediate time, is to wait. Mainly to see if the blister-like formation occurs more often, if any pain or discomfort starts. So, some wasted time for me and Doc on this procedure this morning - only due to the results though. At least I wasn't charged for it. If nothing worse happens before my next cleaning in about 6 months, we'll take a look and see how things are/feel. If it is a bad root (or fractured) it means an extraction, which I hate to think about after going through a root canal and crown - and the costs of both.

Otherwise, things are going well. I will be calling Stuman up today I think, to get plans organized for this weekend. Nascar is in town, and he is taking me out to PIR (Phoenix International Raceway) for the race. I will be with him int he courtesy Military tent on the inside track, and we should be able to be fairly close to the cars in pit row before the race - for pics - and may even meet a couple drivers. Oh yeah, and free beer. I haven't been to the track for a race in a couple years or more. I last took my oldest son and it was his first time. Hoping to get to meet Jr. (my favorite driver) but know not to get my hopes up.

Looks like Turkey Day this year we will be spending it with the Wife's family up north somewhere. I have not heard who is hosting it this year, but I plan on making my cherry delight dessert to take as they always tease me about it when I don't. It's the first dessert to disappear each time I take it to the family dinners. The Daughter is planning on her boyfriend going this year as well, so he can meet some of the Wife's side of the family. Should end up a good time where he and I will be able to sit and attempt conversation. I am not of a conversationalist with him, mainly because I have no clue what to talk about - never have been good at that. Well, aside from possible threats to him if he hurts my daughter....

Okay, I should move on to other things for the day. I know I have a sink full of dishes that need to be done.

Drizzly Day

The Wife woke me up at 5am this morning, just to tell me it is raining. 'Good. We need it,' I said, as I rolled over and went back to sleep. I guess she had been awakened by the sound of the rain, and felt she needed to share the fact with me.

Getting rain in Arizona is generally a nice thing. It helps bring down the temperatures, brings in needed moisture and water for the dry desert areas. I like it as it helps bring down the particulate count in the air. For those without allergies, it means usually a couple days of easier breathing for me. Less blowing of the nose, watery eyes, etc. We had some rain just a couple days ago. It had rained out one of our softball fields our league plays on, but otherwise, was not bad. Temps had dropped down to the 60s daytime level, so the weekend was actually quite nice. This morning however, it is a bit chilly. As I drove to the gym, newsradio said it was 40 out, though the rain had stopped, it was a bit chilly in my gym shorts and work-out tee. I was able to work up a good sweat though this morning, and felt even colder as I left to head out to my vehicle. The hot shower at home felt good!

Tomorrow morning I return to the dentist chair, as they  do a re-treat on one of my crowns. I don't recall if I had specifically posted the issue, but either way, they need to go back into the tooth as it appears they may have missed a micro canal when they did the root canal. They can't numb me up until it is found, so I am not looking forward to it, but it needs to get done.

Other than that, the boys have parent/teacher conferences this week. I do not expect any issues to be brought up to our attention. All the kids have always been well-behaved and do well at their schoolwork. It'll be nice though to hear the teachers give them some nice words of praise.

That's it for now. Down three pounds this week, in my goal to lose 15 this November. At least that is somewhat on track. I should call the Dr. Office and set up my appointment for Dec. Bah!

It's Been Too Good Lately

I am a pessimist. I think I have admitted that before to all of you, but just in case I haven't... I am a Pessimist. With a capital "P".

There is no cup half-full. It's half gone, and it was probably something I wanted to drink, but someone else will drink it, or worse, probably bump me as I raise it, and make me spill it on my crotch, then I have to walk around with that 'looks like you peed your pants' look. I definitely know I would get tired of trying to explain what really happened.

So, life in general was going pretty good for awhile. Then I had that dental cleaning yesterday. No cavities, but have other issues. Many years ago, I had a molar become abscessed on one side of my jaw. Due to lack of dental insurance, I opted for the extraction (cheaper cost) so have had a 'gap' on the one side. Obviously, most of my chewing is done on the opposite side.

Well, since about August, when I chew on my 'regular' side, within a couple hours, I would get this blister-type swelling on the outside of my gum. Didn't hurt per se, but was discomforting. If I applied enough pressure pushing on it, it would 'pop' but not discharge any blood. It was happening almost daily. What is a bit worrisome, is that it occurring in the area between where I had 2 root canals done 2 years ago. Yeah. I am thinking what is so weird.....

I was due for updated x-rays anyways, and the Doc says it looks like there may be some more decay in the root area of one of the teeth he previously did a root canal on. I'm thinking surgery, but he said no. They would drill down through the crown, and try to locate the area, clear it, and pack the hole (similar to a cavity fill). Oh. That sounds easy.

Wait. Here's the worry part. He won't numb me up when he starts. Seems that since the tooth is nerveless, when he gets drilled down to the approximate area, he has to poke/dig around to get the right area that I can only let him know he has reached it by the feeling. Read: When I scream and lock my teeth around his fingers. Then, he says, once the area is found, he can numb it, do the job and finish up.

I'm scheduled to have this done in 2 weeks. I am SO not looking forward to it. Yeah, Life seemed to be going too good.

Trying to be an Optimist.... at least it is a no charge procedure, since it was "missed" on the root canal.

Could use that half drink now, too....

Oops! Rinse, Please!

I have never been very fond of dentists. Rather, I think it is truly less than that. I don't like them. Bad experiences from my younger days have left a rather very distinct bad feeling about them. I only would go to see one when I knew the problem was bad, and I mean REAL BAD. You would think, with my dislike of them, I would have taken better care of my teeth over the years, but I didn't. One of those things you regret a bit later in life.... But the past two years, I actually sort of don't mind going to the dentist. The Wife had found this particular dental office, mainly I think because it is close to our home. But it turns out, they are great up there!! The Doc is very thorough explaining things, and in words we can understand; he is good with the boys, and even better with me. I told him my first visit I don't like dentists, and why. He understood, and has always been very good to me. Front office staff is good and will work with you on payments if needed, and are so nice! Everytime I go, whether for me or the kids, I end up standing around talking for about 30 minutes. Of course, that might just be because at home there is no one to hold any conversation with....

So, I have a dental cleaning this morning. Should be a short visit as I have been doing good with my brushing, flossing, etc. But it will be a good 20 minute visit I am sure, as I relay the trip to Disneyland.

Preacher Tom mentioned the other day maybe for us to do a breakfast this week.... but hasn't said anything yet. I am a bit sore from getting back into the gym routine. Not happy I still put on a couple pounds over last week, as I was hoping to drop a couple more....

Gotta go!

A Crowning

So yesterday's doctor visit wasn't as good as I had hoped. Some of my disappointments were evident. I had gained 5 lbs overall in the last 3 months. Though the doc was ok with that. Considering the holidays, and that I had quit smoking, he said it was normal for some people to have some weight gain, and for me to gain only 5, was not bad. My blood pressure is still high, so I am taking a low dose med for it now. We also did blood draws for a 90 day reading on the AC1 (diabetic sugar) and my cholesterol counts. Depending on what the results are, I may need to take some more meds to help bring the numbers to a better range. Otherwise, everything else was good basically.

In 15 minutes I leave to have my cavity and crown done. Not looking forward to sitting in the dentist chair for two hours.

That's it for now.

The Dreaded Doctor Visit

Welcome to Monday. I am not particularly happy this morning. Well, I guess I am a bit more cranky, tired, and apprehensive more than anything.

Yesterday we drove down to Tucson for the Daughter's choir concert. It is the last one of the school term that we will be able to attend (it being on a weekend rather than the weeknights). She did wonderful, of course, and we were able to get back on the road to home about 9:30pm. Tucson normally is only about an hour and half (or so) from our house. Last night, the trip home took 3 hours. Short of halfway back, there was construction(always somewhere between Phoenix and Tucson) and down to one lane. It was literally stop and go for 10 miles (rough estimate though the Wife says it was less miles than that). That alone took 45 minutes of the trip. Needless to say, we didn't make it home until after midnight (after my regular bedtime), and I had a harder time falling asleep as well. I think I was still mentally awake and running thoughts, though my body was telling me it was beat.

So, a bit less sleep than I get on a more regular basis. Top that off, I have my 3-month follow-up at the doctor. Today's check-up is going to be mostly concerning my blood pressure (to see if it has gone down any) and possible medication for it (if not improving); my weight (to see if I have been losing any); possible EKG reading (so he has a "baseline" for my file); and that's about it I think. I've said before the weight is what I am worried about most. BP I am hoping is better since I quit smoking, and started the CPAP treatment. I am hoping that medication will not be required as I prefer to not take any if I can get away with it. Speaking of, I am taking my aspirin and allergy tabs now.... before I forget. I am going to ask about getting rid of the oxygen (goes in-line with the CPAP at night) as it is such a low setting, and I don't think it makes any difference overall. Plus, it could save us $50/month.

Tomorrow morning is my dentist appointment. Notice I crammed these both within a short time. I really don't care for doctors that much, regardless what field it is. Anyways, I get a cavity done, and a crown tomorrow. Two hours in a dentist chair. Just how I love to spend ANY morning. But the good part is it will be done, and I shouldn't need any dental work aside from the cleaning/check-ups for the future.

Okay, I need to finish getting ready to head out. Will edit and update when I get back, I am sure.

Edit: Will just update the doc visit tomorrow.

Crunch Time!!

That post title reminds me of stuff I am not supposed to be eating. Which is probably why it popped into my head this morning, as I thought about the next seven days.

I took my middle son into the dentist this morning to have a couple old fillings fixed. Seems they had fallen out, or  broken out... Either way, needed new ones. At least the area had not become a cavity again. So that little trip reminded me I have a dental appointment next Tuesday morning for a cavity, and my last crown. A nice 2-hour visit. An expensive visit. Sigh.

But before that, I have a doctor's appointment on Monday. It has been 3 months since I last saw the doc. I will be able to find out how much weight I have lost, if my blood pressure has dropped any since I quit smoking, and I am sure a few other side things as well. So I have six days to worry about if I feel I have lost enough weight. I know I am not at an end goal, but I am hoping for a significant amount. Less than ten pounds, and I will be very disappointed with myself. No excuses though. Bottom line would be that I didn't work at it hard enough. Though, I have wasted my time and made several good and reasonable sounding excuses... to ease my own self-guilt. Even if I don't need them, I have them prepared. But it sucks knowing you can't fool yourself.

So, this week I am doing that "little bit extra" for a last possible bonus to it all. Hopefully, I will be able to do it, and make it become more of a habit, so I can push a little more later on.

Nothing else much going on. I been doing a little less computer time and spending more time with my Kindle lately. I need to catch up reading on several novels I have gotten for it.

I got another one of those monthly site counts for here. It was even lower than last month. I must really have pissed off a lot of people. Or don't have phrases like "granny midget amputee porn" for search engines to pick up on for them extra hits. Either way, if you stop by, comment and say hi.

It's a Little Distracting

So Thursday morning I went in to visit the dentist again. I was concerned about some pain I had been having, feelinglike it was coming from the general area of a 3rd tooth we had discussed about crowning. Thought it was going to be another root canal, and mentally psyched myself up for the possible pain like last time. No root canal - YEA! Instead, about 1.2 the tooth was removed (decay) and they did a build up. This one will need a crown as well.

The worst of it is I still hurt. Later that day when the novacaine wore off, I had a severe pain from the teeth in front of where he worked that morning. Needless to say, ibuprofen had been a regular part of my diet prior to the visit, but that was supposed to have been fixed. Well, now it is Saturday, and I wake up (early of course) and I am in discomfort again. Notice I didn't say in pain. ?But I still popped a couple ibuprofen.

I think I figured out what happened. In rebuilding the tooth (which was the furthest back of molars) he had to put a band around the area. I think the rebuild has added some pressure against the tooth in front of it, causing the chain effect of moving my teeth just slightly forward. Similar to how braces are used to the same effect. I noticed the pain isn't as severe as it has been, and hopefully if this is the correct explaination, it should be okay come Monday. It's just very distracting right now.

So "Stargate:Universe" started last night onthe SyFy channel. I don't have cable, so I called in backup (Sis) and asked her to Tivo it so I can see the 1st episode. I enjoyed the other Stargate series, and have a feeling I will like this one as well.

Sis also brought over last night the last of my Bday stuff. It had been ordered and late in arriving. It's a cool shirt made for my WoW character! I love it! A friend had ordered one for my son, and now I have one!

Guess that is it for now. I haven't been doing much since the teeth been bothering me. Maybe next week will be different.

Appointments, Cancellations, and the Usual

I notice how rough the skin is on my hands this morning. I have no idea why I am noticing it, besides it being uncomfortable as I rub my eyes. I need to put some lotion on I guess.

And hopefully, that will be the most painful thing, or closest to it, I will feel today. I head back to the dentist chair in about an hour. Third procedure that he says should not be a root canal, but I feel differently. I hope he is right and it is just my regular pessimism that is going to be surprised.

Either way, I am canceling all appointments to the dentist for myself for the rest of the year. Seems my dental insurance coverage has already been maxed for this year. So after I finish fixing the painful things, I will wait til next year to complete the process to being "healthier" in the sense for my teeth.

Not much else going on around here. Weather is cooling down to the mid and low 90's. It is October, so I guess time to start trying to get some Christmas shopping done early if we can. Yee haw. The daughter needs me to run to the bookstore today to get her "Jane Eyre" which they are reading in English.

Okay. That's it. Getting ready for my appointment, and debating where I want to go for breakfast afterwards. Thinking BK or McD's sounds good. Maybe I'll just wait til lunch.

edit: no root canal - rebuilt 1/2 a tooth though, and the pain is still there. GuessI will be seting another appt.

It's Friday. I am happy it is because that is one more day I can check off until my next dental apoointment. My last one until the start of the year anyways. Dental insurance coverage was maxed out with just a small portion of the last visit, so everything else is out of pocket. I have a bad feeling this next one is another root canal, but won't know for sure until they get inthere and clean it out. Crossing my fingers it isn't. However, other indicators are pointing to that direction.

Wedsnesday the office called to follow up from the root canal. My jaw ached a bit, but it was more from holding open for the procedure. But later that evening, that last trouble tooth decided to let me know it was jealous of the others for getting more attention. Ibuprofen has been my friend the past few mornings and evenings. Now if I can just get thru the next 4 days....

My daughter has her Homecoming game tonight. The dance is tomorrow night. Her boyfriend is comoing up from UofA in Tucson to go with her. The Wife's school has their homecoming game tonight as well. She has been undecided about to attend the daughter's game or her own school's. This morning she decided on her own school. I told her to call me when she got off work to determine how I felt about being able to go as well. If the pain from this tooth is bad enough, I'll stay home and try to not scream and cry about it. Well, more like not have anyone to whine to about it, except you of course.

Monday is my daughter's 18th birthday. Sunday we are planning on doing a family dinner at teh place of her choice. I asked this morning if she had decided on a place yet. Her asnswer was no. Probably thinking about the dance more than anything else I figure.

My middle son is his class's 'Star of the Week' next week. This weekend he gets to fill out a form about likes, and his "autobiography". He is excited about it. Remember, he is only in 2nd grade.

alright, gonna head down for a bit of sleep. Maybe the ibuprofen will kick in and it will stop throbbing for a bit when I get up.
