I've never been in any type of accident, vehicle-wise or other, where I can remember hurting so bad, as I have the past 24 hours or so. Seemingly millions of bicycle crashes/wipeouts, and the scarred knees and elbows, are no match in memory for what I am experiencing. And today, that is a bit diminished than it was yesterday, though, it doesn't feel like much. I have been on a steady ibuprofen regime every 5-6 hours, sleep or not, as I usually wake up when it is wearing off and ready for another dose. I am thinking it is brought on by having clenched my jaw in sleep and the steady pressure, add in an irregular bite, has "shifted" the regular position of m teeth, and that is the cause of this all. Reminds me of when I had braces, and the 3-4 days after a visit to the ortho doc, would leave me feeling similar (though, in my recollection, never this bad).
I think back prior to my root canals, and crowns, and how bad I had let my teeth get over the previous 20-odd years.... Abscessed tooth, and all, must have been a gradual pain I learned to tolerate, until I got them fixed. I remember the first few weeks after the root canals, that I was happier than I had been in months. I think it was the constant pain, though I was more used to it then, that made me so crabby, etc. It's a good theory if nothing else. Because I know right now, I am not the happiest person around these parts.
Yes. Another day of pity-party for me.

Feeling Discomfort
It's 3:30am here. I was awakened about an hour ago with some pretty intense discomfort in my mouth. I'm waiting for the full effect of the ibuprofen, hoping it will alleviate the discomfort enough that I can crawl back to bed and get some more sleep. It's coming from where I had had a couple crowns done about a year or so ago. I am not sure if the tooth furthest back along that side is having issues, and throwing the pain forward a bit, or if maybe I inadvertently "bruised" the gum/bone area under the crown by some unfortunate amount of pressure (ie. teeth clenching, or accidentally biting extremely hard on something - though I can't recall doing that). Either way, I know my regular dentist is on vacation until the 6th - next week. I am going to try to get through the next few days using ibuprofen, and see what happens. I am hoping it is only the "bruise" and it will decrease in discomfort over the next day or so. If not, I will struggle through to next week, and see how fast they can get me in to check for possible other factors. I cringe at the thought of yet another root canal and crown..... All I know is it started being a bit of problem yesterday early evening, shortly after having a nap. I sometimes grind my teeth (I'm told) at night, so maybe did this while napping.
Sunday I watched the Indy 500, or at least the most interesting last 30 laps. I should check later today to see what the final results are, if they are out. I heard there was an issue about who gets the actual win, due to the possibility of a caution, and the passing of the car. Afternoon I went up to the pub to watch Nascar with some friends. As the race ended, my Sis calls and turns out my brother was up at her place for the night, and they were going to play some poker, so I went up there for the night as well. Drank more beer, played cards, and ended up catching up with Stuman for most of the night. Family came over later in the morning, and we had a good family day.
Aside for the issues of my discomfort, this week doesn't appear to hold alot of interesting things. I take Daisy in for her next series of puppy shots, and schedule Rusty, aka Spawn of Satan and Crack Kitty, for his yearly.
Ibuprofen has seemed to start kicking in. I am going to head back to bed and see if it is enough to at least let me get some more sleep.

Short one of no content
It's Friday. I am happy it is because that is one more day I can check off until my next dental apoointment. My last one until the start of the year anyways. Dental insurance coverage was maxed out with just a small portion of the last visit, so everything else is out of pocket. I have a bad feeling this next one is another root canal, but won't know for sure until they get inthere and clean it out. Crossing my fingers it isn't. However, other indicators are pointing to that direction.
Wedsnesday the office called to follow up from the root canal. My jaw ached a bit, but it was more from holding open for the procedure. But later that evening, that last trouble tooth decided to let me know it was jealous of the others for getting more attention. Ibuprofen has been my friend the past few mornings and evenings. Now if I can just get thru the next 4 days....
My daughter has her Homecoming game tonight. The dance is tomorrow night. Her boyfriend is comoing up from UofA in Tucson to go with her. The Wife's school has their homecoming game tonight as well. She has been undecided about to attend the daughter's game or her own school's. This morning she decided on her own school. I told her to call me when she got off work to determine how I felt about being able to go as well. If the pain from this tooth is bad enough, I'll stay home and try to not scream and cry about it. Well, more like not have anyone to whine to about it, except you of course.
Monday is my daughter's 18th birthday. Sunday we are planning on doing a family dinner at teh place of her choice. I asked this morning if she had decided on a place yet. Her asnswer was no. Probably thinking about the dance more than anything else I figure.
My middle son is his class's 'Star of the Week' next week. This weekend he gets to fill out a form about likes, and his "autobiography". He is excited about it. Remember, he is only in 2nd grade.
alright, gonna head down for a bit of sleep. Maybe the ibuprofen will kick in and it will stop throbbing for a bit when I get up.
