Busy Day in the Looks

It id only Wednesday, and already I feel I am going to be busy. I have the Santa gig around 630p, and at some point today, I need to type up the minutes from our VFW Riders meeting (I'm the Secretary). Which means I need to go back and read my chicken scritches from Sunday and try to remember my abbreviations, etc. Then add some new members to the email role and send out the minutes, hoping no one sends back corrections to be made.

I finally finished off the White Castle sandwiches we got on Monday. I think I won't be having a craving for them for quite awhile now. They are definitely something I prefer freshly made, as popping the cold ones in the microwave just seemed to make the feel soggier. And yes, the Wife has not been happy with my farts for the past two days, but that should clear up today (well, from the sliders anyways).

Friday is my last Santa gig, which will be at the Wife's work place. IF it is like last year, I just sit there pretty much through the LTC's lunch and gift receiving, then smile and say stuff to the residents as they leave for their rooms. Many of them that can recognize Santa do smile, and at least it helps brighten some of their holiday (I hope).

I have heard back from a couple of the kids in regards to planning Christmas at RM's house. Due to work schedules, and living in other cities, it looks like we will be planning for the 28th, if that works for RM. I will be in contact with her a bit later this morning, as I don't have my phone on me right now, and I want to verify the text msgs I have received. The Wife mentioned in our family chat, that we are still planning on our immediate family Christmas on the 25th, just waiting verification from the kids on that as well. Thankfully, with RM's offer to do dinner on a separate day, ahs eased up the time constraints my family would have on trying to do everything on one day.

With that, it is almost 5am, and I can feel those sliders wanting to leave, so need to head to the Reading Room, or Gaming room, since I usually just play games on the tablet while in there.... I know, TMI.

Doing A Run ....

Saturday is here, and the Wife isn't. She left this morning to drive out to Mesa for some continuing education class that is free to take but only today. She'll be gone most of the day I reckon. We spent a good half hour or more last night trying to find the best route for her to take, as there are some freeway closures. I think I got her situated with a route that was about 8 miles longer, but would involve less changing of freeways, and probably keep her out of most of the detoured routed from the closures. I remember not so long ago driving that distance just to get to work... glad I don't have to anymore.

So no Wife means I get to make my own lunch plans. I talked with Youngest last night, and I think we are going to do a food run - to White Castle! There's one out on the east side of Scottsdale, maybe 30 minutes from home. I have never been there (no clue except I think it is far to drive for food) but feel the craving for them sliders yesterday. Might get a couple cases (for lunch this week) and a go-bag to have on the way home. Youngest seemed kinda excited to go as well. I think the last time he tried them, he did like them.

Welp, I'm feeling a little tired yet this morning so I may go lay back down for a bit.

It's About the Giving ....

Reverend Mother and Preacher Tom had been out of town for nearly a week, celebrating their anniversary, and RM's birthday. Their drive back home yesterday brought them near the only White Castle in the Valley (thank goodness we have one) and they picked up some around the lunch hour. Unbeknownst to me, they had picked up some for me as well and surprised me early in the afternoon by dropping by and leaving me with a 'suitcase' of regulars. RM always talks about her love of giving, and she did some of that yesterday to me as well, knowing how much I love the taste of White Castle.

I did not want to spoil that spirit of giving RM brought on yesterday. So when the Youngest got home from school, I shared some of the WC sliders with him (I do believe he is developing a taste for them as well). The Wife had to work later into the evening, so I had a few more for my dinner, then the giving really began. I retired to the bedroom about 9'ish, and the beloved White Castles began to transform within my digestive system, building up massive amounts of very unpleasantly aromatic methane gas - which I often, loudly, and without warning shared with the Wife. She was not amused, nor happy with me.

Ah, but such is life. Sometimes you have to take some bad for some good.

I still have some left over today... guess what I will be having for lunch (and possible repeat performance)?

Debating The Trip

A few days ago, a good friend of sent me a text picture. It was a simple picture of a paper bag, from a local eatery, that I really like: White Castle. Seems he, or his girlfriend had made the trek 'across town' to the only one in the Phoenix area I know of, and brought it home for him. I also add, he was not a true friend, and offer some to me. Instead he selfishly ate it all (as I would have done as well). This morning's internal debate, is if I shall travel over yonder, and maybe pick up a couple cases (should last a couple days) for dinner tonight. I shall ponder it throughout the workday.

Speaking of it being a work day, allegedly, the Project was to end yesterday. However, on Tuesday, they moved me up to being a QC'er, to check on the work everyone was doing. Which is nice - a little more money per hour, plus, this level lasts on the Project longer. So I may be one this one for a possible additional week or more - at the higher pay level. It's nice they finally got me back in to doing the QC work.Though it is barelyam this morning, I may be logging in at 5am, just to get  the work day done, though, I feel I won't. I'll end up doing my social media, emails and whatnot and wait until 6 to start.

Flatulence. The Wife complains about mine frequently. I don't know if it happens to be necessarily because of the aromatic content, or the frequency, or the decibels of sound. I know that if I do make it to the East side, and pick up those wonderful, little sliders, she will be complaining. Our last trip to Indiana had me having some for breakfast (yummy!) and we were traveling north about 3 hours. She was not a happy camper. But then again, she doesn't work at home lik eI do, and would not be here to "enjoy" the next days results. Decisions, decisions.
