We Are On A Negative Approach ...

... that is sort of my feeling this morning. The past few weeks, overall, I have felt fine. A few bad days here and there, but no major bad issues. That changed a little last night. Yesterday I had noticed I was just completely exhausted all day. I even took a 3-hour nap late in the afternoon. When I woke from that nap, I was feeling kind of 'blah' all over and as the evening went on, it got worse. By about 9pm, I was groaning. I felt nauseated, could only dry heave. I felt like I was burning up, but the thermometer only showed me at 99.5, so not as bad as I felt. I started aching all over. I decided the best thing was to just go to bed, and see how it progresses. So, I did. I was wakened several times in a short span there around midnight. Each time I still felt terrible.

I began to entertain thoughts of going to the ER, but realized that they would not be able to do much for me. Maybe some meds for the nausea and a paracentesis for pressure. Probably Tylenol for the low-grade fever.  Then be sent home 8 hours later with more medical bills, alleviated symptoms, but still not fixed. The Wife's alarm went off at 6:15am this morning. It does everyday. I don't know if she just can't figure out how to shut the weekend days off or what ... I did the trip to the bathroom, trying to analyze my body and how I felt this morning. Not feverish. Check - good. Nausea: down from what it was, and pretty much about the standard level of it I have each day - good. Tiredness? Oh yeah, still tired. Morning nap in my future maybe, though I have group meetings this morning. I am sure it is no big deal if I miss them, but I would rather not. So overall I am back to normal now.

I did my quiet time this morning. Read the chapter on "Drowning". This author seems to reference the AA program quite a bit, which is fine with me, as it gives me another reference point. I admit, my interest is up more today than it has been the last couple days about reading this book. For my Bible reading, I skimmed over the last few chapters of the OT, but nothing really stood out to me today.

My calendar is free pretty much all this week. I know I need to do the minutes from last weeks meeting, but I just haven't felt up to doing it yet. I don't see it happening today either.

Do I Got the 'Rona?

I hadn't realized it had been pretty much a week since I last wrote. Things around here have been busy (to me) this past week.

Last Sunday we did get to have dinner with Daughter and family. I invited RM & PT, so they got some time with them as well. I know it made RM happy, and I was happy to share the time with them instead of 'hogging' them to myself. I was generous, as Washington won their game against Green Bay (that's what I say anyways). Youngest went back to a semi-regular marching band week: Tues night practice, early mornings, Friday night game. Add in the competition (on the other side of town, go figure) today. Thursday night one of my buddies took me to a Grand Canyon Univ hockey game. I know nothing about hockey, or next to nothing, yet had a good time. Afterwards, we went to the pub and it was college night, so the team showed there for some of the Halloween dress-ups. Friday night, whilst the Youngest was at an away game, the Wife and went out for dinner, then relaxed at home. Today she will be driving across town (a good hour) to watch the Youngest perform, but I don't feel up to it.

In fact, I am not feeling totally great at all. Yesterday, I woke feeling nauseous, and just 'out of sorts'. Nothing would come up, or out, and I skipped my meds just because I didn't want possible extra nausea. All day I felt like this, add in hot/cold flashes, cold sweats, and tiredness. I laid down for about an hour, no napping, but felt a little better, so still went to dinner with the Wife. After eating some food, I felt a bit better, but this morning am still not back to regular. I'm guessing a stomach bug, or flu variant. I am pretty sure it is not the 'Rona.

I feel like I have way too much to accomplish in a short time, and some of it I just cannot completely do myself. Our tree out front had died of unknown causes earlier this summer, and we were able to get it knocked down, and out of the ground. It needs branches trimmed down (and trunk) to about 4 foot lengths so they pick it up in bulk trash next month. Which needs to be done first, as the grass needs mowing, and trimmed, as well before some asshole neighbor "reports" it and the city sends out a notice of grass being too high (very personal peeve). I just physically cannot do it all, and the Youngest has been busy with school/band he has not been any help. Middle Son tries to help when he can make it over. Maybe this weekend we can get his help. Sunday may be able to get Youngest to help as well.

No news on the work front. Still waiting to hear of any new projects. I feel I may have to send a reminder that I am available, just to get their attention.

Have three books I was approved for this last week, so will be busy reading in my free time to get the reviews done. One was a book I kind of was hoping would be coming out soon, the other two were just a couple picks that sounded good.

I'm Not a Doctor .....

... but I made myself all well again! The past couple days with the sweating at night, the fever that isn't a fever, and the unquenchable thirst, had all about done me in. I was feeling tired from sleepless nights, and bloated from all the water I was drinking. I even wasn't going to the restroom for the amount of water I was drinking! I looked up WebMD, and tried to figure out by the thirstiness, what may be the problem. I didn't like any of their answers, which I couldn't verify pretty much without going to a doctor.

Then I went to the bathroom, and had a bowel movement. I mean, a serious one. It was a rough patch, as it appeared I was a bit constipated (probably from not drinking enough days before...) but once I got that 'worked out', everything started feeling better. I spent the next couple hours farting what felt like every 10 minutes. The bloated feeling was gone. Unquenchable thirst went away. I really think it was my body trying to just fill itself up and force that crap out!! Either way, it worked! Slept good last night, and have just been doing my normal water levels.

I know, you wanted to hear that story so much!

Work yesterday was a bother. I was up and ready at 6:30am, but they had not uploaded new data into our project until 8:30, which was empty again by 9:30, and then filled at 10:00. Si I did not get my full 8 hours. I quit after 6.5 as I had been sitting and waiting for work for over 9 hours. Today I noticed that they had pooled up data that should last us about 2-3 days, which is when about the project is to end anyways. This stage of the project is one of the ones I don't like. The work is mundane, and time just drags. But it has to be done....

Monday Morning Blues

Went to bed last night, feeling better than I had most of the day, and aside from that ongoing thirstiness, thought I felt like things were on the mend. I was wrong. Around midnight, I woke as the Wife was coming to bed, and realized I was 'hot" again. Skin felt cool and clammy. Cold sweat. excessive thirst. Even though I got up and relieved myself of quite a bit of water, I still felt the unnatural urge to drink much more. I allowed a couple small cups, and laid back down. For the next few hours it was a repeat. Finally around 3:30am I fell into sleep that lasted until the alarm at 6. Though I still a, thirsty, I didn't wake feeling as I did yesterday.

Not sure if I am working today. My fears about content being available turned true, and logging in this morning shows that there is no new data. However, I see that it was mentioned last Friday, that supposedly more would be available today. So now it is the waiting game to see if/when it appears. If not soon, I will lose some time as I cannot charge when I am not working. Sigh. You would think they would be more on top of this, not only to finish the project quicker, but to keep employees from having down time. It's not always good when your employees show up for work before management, but there is no work to be done.

Well, on that note, I am going to head out and catch up on some other stuff this morning whilst I wait for work to become available.

It's Down Time

The Celebration of Life I went to yesterday turned out to be okay. My Friend, J, was the one sort of setting up the event. He arranged the site (one of the puns we attend, which the deceased's wife thought would be perfect) plus creating the picture slide-show, etc. There were quite a bit more people that showed up than I would have thought - I know several were there just for support of my friend, like I was. I did meet a couple of people I had only heard of by name, so that was nice. About the time the NBA finals started, I was ready to head home, so I did.

I wanted pizza, but the Wife and Youngest had already had it for lunch. I guess Middle Son brought it over (I had left for the CoL). I was set on wanting pizza, so I picked one up at our usual place, and went to Taco Bell for what they wanted. Went home, ate, and went to bed at a decent hour. I never did check the time, but somewhere in those early hours (I'm thinking 12-1) I awoke not feeling well. Not the stomach, I ate something bad type... I felt like I was burning up, from the inside. Skin felt cool with clammy sweat. I was thirsty like guy in the desert for days with no water. I went to the bathroom and drank a couple small cups of water, and splashed my head, chest and arms with water to try to cool down (though the skin wasn't hot and feverish. This went on all morning. Drop off to sleep, to suddenly wake feeling like this, repeat.

Around 7:30 this morning I decided I had had enough and got up. Drank to 28 oz bottles of water, and was craving more still. I went and took a hot shower, thinking maybe it would "cool" me off, and it did for a little bit. RM texted me about bringing over some potato salad and deviled eggs she had made, and I told her I wasn't feeling well. Sent the Youngest to get the door since I didn't know if I was viral with anything. As the day wore on, I felt slowly better, though, I have drank more water than I feel I ever have in one day. I feel bloated, but still crave more drink. Sigh. And surprisingly, I haven't been running to pee after all this water. I don't know what is going on. Maybe tomorrow I will need to have that huge release....

Tomorrow it is back to work. Friday I noticed as I ended my day, that the work load we had was dwindling down fast on the project. When I started early last week, I knew it was only going to be a short one, so am not sure if there will be actual work for me tomorrow or not. May end up just waiting for the next project.

I think I am going to catch up on some media, then head to bed early tonight.

Recovery Day Three

This past Saturday was a long day. I spent part of the morning with my brother and Cousin, then headed to RM's place for lunch. I admit, I invited myself pretty much. But wither way, it was fun, and RM was giving away some dishes and whatnot that she did not have room for after the move. I picked out a casserole pot, and an egg dish that I remembered from my childhood. After lunch we went back to my brother's for a few hours.

From there I headed out to a local eatery, that also serves alcohol, for one of my best friend's 40th birthday party. It was really good to see some friends that had not been out with the whole covid thing going on. We ended up, the birthday bot, his dad, and I, at a another friends' house until the wee hours o the morn. Needless to say, Sunday I rested most of the day. Definitely a day of recovery.

Yesterday was a bit weird. I rose from bed about the usual time, but just felt "off" all day. Not sickly feeling, but like something wasn't right. Did several temperature checks which all came back normal. Had a healthy BM, so nothing wrong there. Appetite felt normal, and I ate nothing different than I might have normally. Went to bed about 9pm, feeling tired, and still like something wasn't right.

Again this morning that feeling is here. Not as strong though. I wonder if I just caught a little bug that is just enough to make me feel like something is off? Again this morning my temperature is in the normal range. I don't feel sick to my stomach, no flu-like symptoms. In fact I think here in a few I am going to the QT to get a soda (none in the house). I don't know... maybe it was just too much drink Sunday ....

Nothing exciting this week, except I am hoping later today the IRS will say my Economic relief check has been sent to my bank account. I won't check that until later.
