More Boring Stuff...

There are many things I want to say in today's post, but the bottom line is.... I am not sure how to say them.

I spoke little over a week ago, about the bathroom assault that took place. Tinnitus is my friend evidently, as it has been a constant since the event. Some days are better than others, but even alcohol cannot stop it. I find myself losing a trin of thought at times. Other times, I find myself losing balance. There is no definite thing I can adjust to, it just happens. Pretty much like life in general.....

It *was* Saturday, when the day started. I met up with RM for some breakfast at a restaurant we all generally love. Black Bear Diner usually does not disappoint. I truly had a good time catching up with RM, even though we had briefly talked on Friday, when I swung by my Brother's home (a whole 'nother story). As always, loved catching up on small talk, though most of ours were situated around my other siblings, and, yes, sigh, PT. But no matter how our conversation went, RM and I could laugh and have a good time. I really should do these breakfast/lunches more often, but then, what would we have to talk about? Know what I mean Vern?

Next weekend, our Anniversary weekend, we are headed to Tucson (again). The newest granddaughter is being baptized/christened/dedicated whatever it is called, at the church the Daughter and SIL attend. Of course we will stand in support, even if I don't know what for. I'm more worried about the SIL's parents (his dad is a jackass). Sheesh... I said it already.

I got many other things rolling through my mind right now. Most of which, I do not want to share, until I know more, but overall, I'm not sure it will make you or I a better person. Years ago, I left behind a portion of me, that needed to stay in the past, and had no future with my family, or me. Due to recent events, that persona has come a-knocking....

My mental health isn't as good as it should be. But I have a wonderful Wife, whom I share these details with, and she helps get the worst of it away. And I have a few, very good, close friends I am able to talk with, that help as well.

Right now, I'm trying my best to NOT be that person again.

I just want the ringing in my head to stop.....f'ing tinnitus.

Games, Games, Breakfast And Dinner

Today and tomorrow are going to be somewhat busy for me. Well, at least much busier than my usual days. It is Friday, so the Youngest has their Homecoming game tonight. I am not going - I do not care to sit in the stands, and all the walking.... plus I am sure parking tonight will be terrible, meaning full lots. Though myself or the Wife will need to pick him up afterwards. Also, a game my brother got into playing on the tablet, has this big 'cross-server clash' battle against three other clans, and today is the last day to "power-up" my teams to be in the battle. I will be concentrating on getting as many items to boost my team today.

Tomorrow starts out with a breakfast at Ronnie's Cafe (our favorite breakfast place) where RM will be meeting up with me. I think she mentioned she has not been there before. I mentioned to the Wife about going there, and she may join us as well. Heck, I even mentioned it to the Youngest, and he may be interested in going. Most likely he will be too tired in the morning to go after the HOCO game the night before, but will see. I am sure I will just 'veg out' the middle of the day, and late afternoon, we will be heading out to Olive Garden for dinner with Youngest and his date, prior to dropping them off.

Sunday, I would normally head up to the pub to watch NFL, but I just am not feeling it this year. a good friend that has been meeting up with me the last several years, has decided to not go this year - no reason given to me, and all I hear are stories as to why. I texted him last night, asking him to call me today at his leisure, to find out what the hell is going on. I don't know if he will call. The stories of the reasoning I have heard, are in my opinion stupid reasons to not hang out with friends. But what do I know?

Well, I best get started in on my games....

Sunday, Sunday Sunday!

Another Sunday has happened along, and yes, I will be heading up to the pub to hang out with some buds to watch some football this morning. With DST in effect, here, the games start about 10am, so we usually start out with a couple Bloody Marys, loaded with some goodies to munch on (bacon, pickle spears, celery, etc). I'm sure today will not be any different than last week. I do have one bet that Washington beats Tennessee, so we will see how that goes. The bet is only for a beer (+/- $5 cost) as I am not a big gambler, and also do not have much faith in my 1-3 team.

Saturday morning had a wonderful time having breakfast with RM. She had mentione dthe Black Bear Diner for breakfast, and I had not been there for that meal of the day before, so it was a new experience. I had the corned-beef hash, and it was good... I picked at it until it was gone, even though I was full about halfway through the meal. Several iced teas washed it all down. Conversation was a little off at first, as we share enough basics in our blogs, it seemed there was not much to really catch up on, but eventually it went better, as we could be more specific and onto other details that maybe we don't share online. Overall, was a nice time.

Not sure what is going on this week. The Youngest is on school break. I probably will be contacting the Company and letting them know I am ready to get back to work, though I am not sure if they will have anything right away for me. I kind of would not mind a few extra days off, but it has been three weeks or so since I last was ona  project. Between my back getting better, and adjusting to the new meds/dosages, it is about time I get back to normally working.

Speaking of meds, I am starting to wonder if they are working. I know certain foods store as sugar, etc, and I have been trying to cut sugars (soda, candy, etc) out of my diet, but even my glucose count is still showing higher, even with an added prescription. And my BP ... well, it is still pretty much in the same range as it was prior to increase in the script I take for it. Maybe some more time for the body to adjust to it... though it has been over a week - nearly two, since the changes.

I am up a bit early today. For some reason, I was in bed by 7:30 last night. I was so tired I could hardly stay awake. No idea why. I had gotten up for breakfast, and spent most of the day playing Warcraft, or watching social media, etc. I had not done anything streneous (like I would...lol). I did wake a few times during the night, but was able to fall back asleep. I finally woke/got up around 4-something. Thinking of going and lying back down to try for a couple more hours. Will see....

"It Comes In Threes" They Say ....

This past Sunday, the Wife received a text message from the Daughter. It seems both she and the SIL were feeling poorly (fever, feeling blah, etc) biut my Doodad seemed to be feeling fine. Later another text came in that the SIL had used one of the at-home Covid tests, and it showed positive for him. The curb-side testing was scheduled for the Daughter and Doodad for Monday. Monday I got a text that now Doodad was having a fever and not feeling well, and then later on, I got the text that yes, all three of them had tested positive for Covid. Sigh. The plan had hopefuilly been that they would be up to visit this next week while Doodad was on break, but that is now changed. Sigh. I do feel for them....

The Youngest's marching band competition went well. They placed third in their division (out of the seven bands there). Their next competition is a week from Saturday at NAU. Only another month and a half until marching season is over - and so are the extra night practices we have to be sure we are available to take/pick him up. Plus the Friday football games. I should be used to it, having had three kids do this for four years each, and this is the Youngest's third year. I'm happy to say, there is only one mor eyear left of it.

Saturday, RM and I plan to meet up for breakfast. She suggested Black Bear Diner, which is about halfway between our homes. I haven't beenthere in awhile, and before, it had generally been for dinners. I'm looking forward to seeing their breakfast menu, and time with RM, of course.

Still dealing with adjustments to my medication changes. the end of last week showed me doing multiple express travels to the restroom. This week, that has resumed regular traveling speeds and necessity. I spent most of yesterday feeling nauseous, though not quite to the point of throwing up. I asked the Wife to bring home some Sprite to hopefully settle the stomach (it did). This morning I am feeling just a touch of nausea, but will see what happens since I just took my meds for the day. I do have some Sprite leftover just in case ... if it really helps with it.

I guess it is time to start trying to figure out Christmas stuff. We haven't had much of a chance to get presents early, though I know we have a few small items for Doodad. Seems we always find something to get her, and say for bday or Christmas, but end up just giving it to her because. I do have a couple ideas for the kids, that I will order this month to be sure they arrive in time. Others I will have to think of something. I'm sure Saturday I will be asking RM for ideas for her and PT, though each year it is usually the same stuff (PT-socks, sweatshirts, etc; RM nothing...as a rule). I know I am pretty much the same way - nothing for me. If anyone asks, I usually say beef jerky, or pickles, or similar.

That reminds me I have something for RM I will need to remember to bring Saturday morning. I could hold onto it until Christmas, but I picked this up a while back, and just haven't had the chance to get it to her. Just a little 'something'. I know when she reads this she will get a little excited, as she loves little unexpected gifts (don't we all?).

Welp, I got nothing much else to share at the moment, so guess I should mosey on and figure what I am going to do today. Think I might head to the VFW this afternoon depending on how I am feeling.

Should I... Shouldn't I...?

I have been debating this long this morning.... well, not that long. but the last hour plus... if I should even write today. My rational mind says 'Yes! Write every chance you get! No matter what it is!' And the other part says, 'Whatever. Who reads it but Mom?' Yeah... bad attitudes can create bad habits. Lord knows I have enough of them already.

So here I am. Writing. About what? Well, let's see where it goes.

I closed the pub down last night. That means in AZ it was close to 2am before I got a Lyft ride home. I have no idea why, but I had set my alarm for 6 am, so I was p when it went off. Yes, I was tired, and even thought/tried to roll over and go back to sleep, but my mind would not let me. So I got up and went into our 'office', and thought, I am hungry. It is about 6:30... I thought... why don't I call RM and invite out for breakfast. So, I did. We did. Ate. Came home.

Obviously there was much more to that. we shared things going on in our lives. Maybe me more than her, but I have to share what the kids are doing, too. I think we both had a good time. I know when I got home, I was ready to have an EKG. I kid you not, my heart was racing and it took me about 5 minutes to figure out why. I had coffee. I don't normally drink coffee, and usually if I do, it is just 1, maybe 2, cups t home. I had at least 5 this morning. They were smaller cups, but still....and then I realized. I never said "decaf" ... Now RM does not like the word decaf, let alone anything in her coffee. So I didn't realize until I was home I had had at least 5 cups of regular....whew! I still feel like I have the energy to run 5 miles (but I know I couldn't do 5 houses). I AM WIRED!!!!! Dammit Mother!

Other than that, a good morning. Got an email late in the day yesterday that I have a new project starting Monday for work. A quick text last night also "says" I could be closing on the sale of the house this week (holding out for actual proof). Everything is sounding good to a good start to the week. But I'm waiting for that other shoe. It is truly my nature to be pessimistic.

After all, an optimist is NEVER pleasantly surprised.
