Another Late Night

Last night, I had attended a couple VFW committee meetings (one I am a Secretary for) and when they ran longer than I expected, I figured I would stop at the pub for a couple beers before heading home. Of course, I had my tablet with me, and got so involved in reading the current book, time slipped by me and it was after 1am before I actually headed home. And I could not sleep. Around 6am I did lay down in bed, and after about an hour, I managed to fall asleep, but only got about 3 hours of sleep before I knew I had to get up.

Tonight I amin bed before 10pm, feeling tired from the previous lack of sleep the night before, but it is a no-go. The tinnitus in my head is loud tonight, and just won't let me drop off. I got up about 11pm, took a couple acetaminophen and an edible, to see if they will kick in the next hour and let me sleep. Fingers crossed.

I was expecting a call from a friend this morning. He had plans to drop his car off at the dealership to get his a/c fixed before summer gets here, then we were to go have lunch at Chino Banditos (takee-outee) one of my fave places. I guess he drove over there, texted me (I was still asleep at the time). I did wake and see his text about 45 minutes later, so sent back I was free, and what time did he want to go (still before noon). Instead I guess while he was waiting to hear back from me, he spoke to his Dad on the phone, and they went out to lunch instead. No worries. But he called tonight saying the car should be ready around noon tomorrow, and could I give him a ride, so here's to hoping for some sleep so I won't be groggy tomorrow. I doubt we will do lunch, as I do want to get over and get a haircut, and some other errands done.

That's about all I got right now.

Middle of the Week

What a boring day. I am sure a large part of the American workforce feels the same as I do, that you drag in on Mondays, and by Wednesday, you are pretty much done with feeling anything for the job and just praying for the Friday to appear. Bonus if it is a payday, though so many of us now have direct deposit versus an actual check to collect. Goodness! Those lines at the banks on Fridays.. in a town like Phoenix, were atrocious!! Not that I am working yet, as I am still waiting to hear from the Company, and a few other leads I have put out this last week.

Earlier tonight (when it was Tuesday) I enjoyed the Youngest's concert for the "spring". He played in one of the two Jazz ensembles, the percussion group, and the concert band. Of course, he was the best (I don't care if I am biased). Even RM made it tonight, which was nice to see her as always. She even brought her favorite child some leftovers she had made (the favorite being me). Don't let her fool you that "she has no favorites" because myself, and my children, know the truth.

It's already almost 4am, and I don't expect to be sleeping much tonight. I left the concert, and went home to take care of some stuff. That being one of my uncles, from Dad's side of the family, had asked if anyone had photos of my Dad around his senior year of high school. I had dug out the photo albums my grandparents had put together for me many years ago, and found a couple photos. Tonight my uncle and I "hooked up" message-wise, and I scanned and sent to him. I also included a nice letter to him and my aunt, about how I was sorry that we had not kept in touch better, that I was open to trying to do better with email, now that we had exchanged that way of contacting. Of course I included my phone number as well. I'm hoping that they are as open to it as I am, and that also both parties are able to share every now and then. They truly are people that are important in  my life, and I don't want to lose contact with them, regardless of the years and miles between. Definitely a work to stay on top of....

So, never said what happened after the medical appointment on Monday. BP came out good in the office. I've lost 12 pounds in two weeks. No changes to the current dosages in meds - will wait to see what my daily recordings look like in May. And, though on my own, and nothing to do with the doctors, my anus is getting better. Been dealing with flaring hemorrhoids (auto-spelling correctly spelled that) since the colonoscopy back in mid-January. I still have some flares, where sitting is uncomfortable, but with all the methods I am using to curtail it all, things are finally getting better. Don't care what you think, as long as I can sit longer than an hour...I'm happy!

Well, I don't know how RM can fill up pages of scrolling daily on her blog - maybe she just has more to share than I. This is all I got right now.

Mr Sandman Needs to Quit

Hello 3:15am. Why no, I would love to be awake and not be able to get a full eight hours sleep. No, it won't be any problem at all to stay awake all day whilst trying to work. Sarcasm is always good, right? Well, if anything good comes out of today it will be I can start at 6am, and not have to wait until 8 like some days. Which means I will be done by 2pm, and will be able to take a nap (hopefully).

Where did the weekend go? Saturday, the Wife and I did some shopping for food - trying to stock up on some things that the Youngest can take to school for lunches, and some things for me to snack on whilst working. Trying to keep it healthy (more for me than Youngest) but still had to get a couple flavors of Lays chips I had not seen nor tried: Hot Mustard (which are VERY tasty) and Cuban sandwich (which makes me want to try an actual Cuban sandwich). Afterwards, I called RM, and we went over to visit since we were near them at that point. Had a nice visit, and left when my brother showed up for other reasons. Went to the VFW that night. Bought tickets for their Queen of Hearts draw, and ended up winning a $0.25 drink, and the chance to draw the Queen - which I didn't get (only the King of Diamonds) but still won $25.00 for the card. I only spent $20 in tickets.

Sunday I putzed around the house. Caught up on some reading of blogs, some game time, finished up season one of "The Lincoln Lawyer" on Netflix. The show isn't too bad.... Then was in bed about 10:30pm. See why I am not happy about being awake this early?

Today will be interesting. I think there is enough work to do to get the 8-hour day in, but not much thereafter, so not sure about tomorrow. Thursday I have a doctor appointment so would be short day anyways...if we are still working on this project.

Guess that is all I got....

Monday Morning Downers

This morning has brought my crappy Monday feeling to a new low. I had a good day yesterday with some buddies (even though my team lost - again) and the Wife and I had a nice dinner out at Anzio's Italian (I had the antipasto salad and it was delish). Headed home, and again I was tired early so went to bed around 8pm. Woke up around 2am, and just could not sleep well the rest of the night. many wake-ups and roll-overs. Sweating and feeling hot (though it was a nice temp in the room). Then this morning, as I am doing my glucose and BPO readings, they are higher than I have seen them in the last six months. What? I've been taking the meds. I've been eating better/healthier. I've cut out a lot of sugars. But yeah, the numbers were a bit high today.

The Wife then informed me, as she prepared to head out the door to work, that when she went to do a load of laundry last night, the dryer decided to not work. Something about when she went to set the timer, it did not click at all, and the dryer would not turn on. It is quite older. I think the MIL bought it used several years before she passed away. So now I need to figure out what to do. I think I will end up over at a local used appliance place and see how much for a used one is. The cost for getting a tech out to look at the issue, then the fees for parts and labor are just out there - I know, I worked for an appliance repair company. And of course it is a gas dryer, so a little rarer to find. Looks like I will be tripping out either today or tomorrow.

I heard my email notification sound go off a few times last night in between my short naps, yet nothing in my email this morning regarding work. I was hoping to get out in the front yard today and see about trimming out some of the grass that has grown up into the rosebush and etc along the front of the house as it is starting to look pretty shaggy. With summer finally starting to cool off, it will be more bearable now to do it. But I admit, I just don't feel motivated to do it right this morning.

Welp, I've had my meds, and partaken of some ice cold water. I should scrounge around and see about finding something for breakfast (supposed to take some pills with food). I've a hankering for iced tea for the past several days, and it has not lessened today. I drank several glasses Saturday whilst at breakfast, and had several last night as well at dinner. Might have to go to the $1 store and see if they have any teas on sale, like AZ Tea, or Lipton in a  2-liter. But that constitutes going out in public, which I don't feel like doing right now. It'd be a couple hours til they open anyways. Maybe then I'll feel different.

Unbridled Boredom

An email was written and sent on Monday from myself to the Company. While typing it up, I had to change words frequently, as I was doing my best to place an inquiry, without sounding like I was berating their ineptitude. Well, at least what I feel is their ineptitude. When every two weeks, or so, you are told 'Projects are lining up fast and starting soon' and then 6 weeks later one is still having to inquire about said projects...sigh. Frustrating is a good way to describe this mess, at least from my side of things. Either way, I did get a response to this week's email to HR - and here is the direct quote:

"Yes, apologies that things have been so slow lately. I’m really hopeful projects will be picking up quite soon."

At least I got a response, one would think. I think I should start looking around for another job. This month and a half (plus) between projects is not good for me, nor the bank account. I did have a tentative job offer from a friend, but it is still a couple months off, and I still need to consider the conditions of the position.

In the meantime, I am getting pretty bored. One can only sit around and watch so many movies, or television programs. My reading is over the top - I have finished 186 books of my goal of 150 this year. Computer games are just not keeping me entertained like they used too. All because I don't have the work going on to break up the monotony.

And up at 5:30am today, to repeat the cycle. Yee haw.

In Need of Sleep

I found myself up at the ungodly hour of 5am to get started on work for the day. I have lost the ease I used to have at rising at that hour. When I left the last company, just before Covid hit and we "had to quarantine" ourselves to our homes in March of 2020, Getting up and out the door by 5am was not a big deal. I have gotten too comfortable with sleeping in a bit since then. Sigh. But I sure like getting done with my workday by 1pm, and being able to do whatever I want - even if it turns out I need to be in bed by 9-10pm.

Either way, with all the rest I had gotten this weekend, I found myself having a hard time getting to sleep last night. The Wife had issues as well (and she is making up for it by lounging/napping in bed still this morning (it's almost 8:30am). I finally got up about 1am, and messed around until about 3, then laid done. I did get a couple naps in before the alarm went off. But I am yawning while working, with 4 1/2 hours to go yet. Sigh.

Thinking of asking the Wife to run to a new place near us - a salad drive-thru place. Supposedly she had them before, and said they are quite large in size and are good. Some good food - well, healthier than burgers anyways. No leftovers for me since we went out to eat last night. Sigh. No idea what we will do.

Middle Son came over early this morning (but not before I started work) and we visited while I worked a bit. I like when he comes by just to "say hi".

Wasting Time Still ...

Another day went by, and no contact from the Company. Frustrating having this much time off between projects. I do enjoy when having a nice 2-3 day break between is perfect, but get us back to work! Or is it the workload isn't there? I have no idea....Hopefully Thursday will bring along new information.

I spent most of Wednesday sitting at the computer doing whatever. Watched some Netflix. Social Media. YouTube. Warcraft. "Surfed" the web just following whatever sounded good. Doodad was over for the afternoon after her dental appointment, and then into the evening. Youngest had a parent band meeting, so afterwards we decided to do Chili's for dinner. The Daughter and SIL came by shortly after we made it home, to pick her up and head back to Tucson. Gave the two of them time to see a movie, have dinner, and get some frozen yogurt.

I did go to bed around pm. I was feeling tired, so decided to call it a night. For an hour I tossed and turned, with no sleep in sight so got back up. Ended up watching video clips of movies I have already seen, but it has that good action scene you have to watch again. I have spent a good part flipping back and forth to see if Netflix has that movie on instant play or not..... no luck for any I looked up. Sigh. It is now pushing 2:00am, and I feel no different than three hours ago. But I am going to go lay down again and try to sdleep once more.

Early Friday Meanderings....

What a week...sigh. I'm glad it is theoretically coming to a close, as I don't know how much more I can deal with. I mean that, in a mostly good way, but leaving it open incase I need something to bitch about next week.

Work has been steady. These recent few weeks have made me wonder about this job and think about what should I do. Stay? Go? Sigh. I already mentioned in an earlier post that I decided to stick it out, and the whole RM dreams/praying thing. Today I was on project, doing my best to be the best that I am, and life went on. Around 3pm (my time) I noticed everyone working on my project were "offline". So I literally worked alone for another few hours. Then I did a MS Teams statement I was logging out for the day, here is where the project was at, based on where the director had us concentrate at (area). I waited an extra few minutes. No answers. Fine. I am out.

I want to get a fresh early start on Friday. But here it already almost 2am, and the sleep monster is avoiding me. I don't know what to do at this point.

So, off to bed with me. Let's see what happens.

Maybe Praying Works ....

Monday I was quite unbalanced. The job has been causing quite a bit of frustration for me. I was angry I had 'lost time' with work while dealing with the internet issues. Even in the back of my mind I was worried about any possible reaction to getting the first covid shot. I was just not "in a good mind set", so I did what I always do - I went drinking.

So while I am out having some beers, and reading some of my current book, I'm kind of going over things in my mind about work. Should I start looking for work somewhere else - same line of business? Something new? Something I have done before? And all those kind of questions. My buddy came up and we sat and talked about my work frustrations a bit. I decided (soberly, in fact) that I was going to give it a bit longer with this company. If I show I don't bail out on them during this "rough patch", it might end up being a good thing for me.

Well, about 9:15am Tuesday I get an email from a Project Mgr (way above my level), who emailed me directly (not a group) and asked if I was available for a special project they could use me for doing some QC work. Heck yeah! More pay! Special Project! Personally asked my availability! I let her know I would be online within the hour (I was still in bed, slightly hung-over). I get online, and sure enough, I got right into a special project, even using the program that we haven't been using the last few weeks (makes it so much easier). I ended up working 14 hours straight. they needed that project done "THAT DAY", and OT was open to all who wanted. I needed to make up for the shortness in hours from Monday anyways, and I did - at a higher pay level, too!

So now it is like 12:30am Wed, and I log off. I am mentally worn out, my eyes are tired, my body a bit sore from sitting so long (I do take breaks but not many). I go to bed - because everyone else in the house is - and I cannot sleep. I still haven't tried these melatonin pills I picked up, and I am leery doing it this late at night, in case it  keeps me groggy and hard to get up at a decent time in the morning for work. So here I am.

Vaccine shot #1 update: No issues, really. Moving that arm I can feel a little soreness in the area where the shot was given, but it is not bothersome. No discoloration, nausea, headaches... but I do wish it would add some tiredness, but it hasn't, that I have noticed anyways. Three weeks to shot #2, and from what the Wife went through, it was the worse of the two shots. Granted, hers was a different brand than the one I am getting (Pfizer) - I think she had Moderna.

My buddy J sent a text out to me and another friend, the three of us are going to ND together, about he booked our hotel rooms. For four nights he got one heck of a good deal, that averages out to less than $70 each a night between the three of us. Smoking good deal! So we are pretty much ready now, just waiting on the dates. I know I got my masks for bearded men (fits better on my longer beard) and the seatbelt extenders came for the flight (2 kinds - prepared for any airline).

So.... post title. RM texted me shortly after I got up this morning, saying she was awakened from sleep, as a loud voice had called out "Mom!" to her, and she recognized the voice as mine (allegedly). Being the Reverend Mother, she immediately started praying, not only for me, but the other sibs as well. Her hope being that hopefully every is fine, and there is no need for her to worry. Of course, I texted her back saying I don't know what happened - I was asleep (drinking seems to help me sleep...hmmmm). This is nowhere close to even being the first time something like this has happened with RM. If I recall correctly, I think maybe a time or two when she has had these 'premonitions' and prayed, there was something going on with my brother, or I, or both of us together, that her prayers may have saved us. I dunno. But maybe her praying in those early hours for me, even if it was to be sure that I was safe and nothing was wrong, made today's events fall into place. Or maybe that just some good fantasy there. I dunno. I know what RM would say....

Guess I am going to go surf the internet for a bit, before trying to get to sleep again.

Let's See What Happens

Welcome to another Friday. Today will be an interesting one, considering there are multiple factors that will affect how the day will flow, and end.

1. Didn't sleep well last night. The past few nights have been just hours of short naps, with lots of tossing and turning. I'm not sure what is causing it to happen, I just know I have not had a decent night's sleep in several days. Last night, I had gone to to bed about the usual time, and was up an hour later as I knew sleep was eluding me. Finally got back to bed near 12:30am and still took awhile for the first nap. It's just now 5:30am so you see how little I slept.

2 Work. Wednesday morning it appeared we had came to a conclusion on the current project, and we were informed that they were waiting on word from the client. They did mention that it could take most of the day to get an answer, so we were asked to check back in every couple hours. I did until mid-afternoon, then knew there was no more work that day. Yesterday morning I checked in, and the same thing was going on. Was told to check back in a couple hours. I did - nothing. Then we were told they would contact us via email when the client got answers to them. I waited the rest of the day with no results. Already this morning, no email. I figured I would get this typed up before I logged into the network and see if there is any new information. I may have another day off. I don't mind it every now and then, and the way things have been lately, it helps me get de-stressed about things. Update: Doesn't look like anything yet this morning, which means waiting half the day for them to email (if something happens). If I don't hear by noon, the rest of the day (and weekend) are mine.

3. Depending on work is how today is really going to go. Though, I am expecting three packages today. One is just a funny T-shirt that was on sell for a special price. The other two items I got in preparation for my ND trip. One is a couple of masks (for the flight) that are made for men that have longer beards. So it is a better fit (with wire support) across the nose area, and basically hangs down the front of the beard rather than pushing everything back under the chin. Regular masks "bend the beard" and in honesty, make me feel a bit claustrophobic. These should be more comfortable. Why I didn't look to buy them a year ago, I have no clue. The second package is a couple of the seatbelt extenders for the airlines. Two types just to be sure I am covered. Gives me a little more slack with the extra pounds put on since my last flight.

Welp, I guess that is about all I got for now. Guess I will start the 15 minute login process for work and see what is going to happen today.

Staying Awake For All the Wrong Reasons

It is a little past 3am and I am awake still. I'm not sure if it is because I slept in later than usual today, or what. I'm about ready to head back to bed for attempt number two.

The Wife and I had a nice late lunch. RM & PT picked up the Youngest and took him for games, etc. this afternoon - some time with him to celebrate his birthday last week. I thought we might get out and look at some cars, but after eating, the Reading Room call came in, so we had to head home. Then we just didn't feel like going back out.

The Wife and I did plan that we are going to spend a weekend in Tucson though for our anniversary, and take Doodad out for the day with us...once I find us something to do. I told the Wife that the main requirement is that we have a new vehicle prior to going. At this point I don't care if it is her's or mine, but one needs to be gotten. I know if it is not hers, the length of time it will take for her to get one will be extended worse than the fictional extended car warranty that they save I have and need to renew.

Okay, I'm out to try attempt two.

Child Abductions Really Suck

I was awakened this morning to the loud tone emitting from my cell phone. Unfortunately, it was not my regular alarm tone, and therefore, it 'jolted' me awake. On the other side of the bed, the Wife's phone was emitting the same tone. My first thought, coming from a dead sleep, was this was the emergency broadcast, and something MAJOR just happened - like someone launching nuclear warheads, or something. No, it was a child abduction. An AMBER alert, if you will. And I couldn't read it. Admittedly, I did not have my glasses on, and to shut the screeching pitch of a noise off, I tapped the button on the screen. Noise stopped, and the text box disappeared. So now I have no idea why I was getting the alert - supposedly it would be something that happened in my area of town. Either way, child abductions suck, because now I have been up for like two and half hours, and not feeling sleepy again yet. I'm going to try to lay down and nap, or hopefully, sleep until time to get up, after I get done here.

The middle Son came by yesterday, because he was bored. He and the Wife ended up going to WinCo to do some shopping - not because he or is needed groceries. Mostly because they sell some stuff in bulk, like candies you can get however much you want in a bag, and pay by weight. That feature had been not allowed due to covid, but I guess they are allowing it in some type of form again. Wife ended up getting me some of them black licorice tasting candies. I'm more excited about the bag of salt & vinegar chips she got me.

Well, I should close this off, and try to get back to bed and sleep.

Edit: I was able to get back to sleep finally around 3:30, and now I am up again for work, I still feel tired as heck. Think it is going to be a long day.

It Rears Its Ugly Head .....

It's almost 2AM and I have not been up this late, or early depending on how you look at it, in quite awhile. Well, at least in the sense that there was no alcohol involved. I had closed my eyes for sleep around 10:45PM last night, and I don't know if it was noise the cats/dog made, but here I am awake, unable to fall back asleep. I sincerely hope it isn't that ugly thing Insomnia coming back.... seeking revenge after I finally shook its hold a few months back.

I didn't work yesterday. But, I did get a few work emails. One of which was for the next project, starting Monday, that I replied I was available to start on. Also, I guess there were some last minute documents come in on the project we just finished, and they requested for anyone to work a few hours (11-4) today, to get them done. I offered up for that as well. A few extra hours isn't bad considering I was not near the 40 hours for the weekly total.

What to do until then? I am not sure if I feel like Netflix/Disney+. Not even sure if I feel like popping in the last disc for season two of "Yellowstone". Maybe I will just play some Warcraft, and hope I get tired enough to get a few more hours of sleep prior to working. Let's see what happens.....

Pulling a Late Night

Things too good to be true: getting a good night's sleep, as it ruins the next night when you try to go to bed. I went to bed around 9-10, and I did my usual little bit of reading. Then I tossed/turned for around 40 minutes. Finally out in my ear buds and played some mellow music from my tablet for the next hour. By midnight, I was no where close to falling asleep, even though I felt mentally drained. I'm thinking about just giving up and going to the store to buy some Ambien, or other sleep aid, then forcing myself to take one every night - unless I been drinking. those nights I seem to relax quickly into sleep. Must be the alcohol.

Not much went on today. The Daughter and Doodad are still in town until at least tomorrow - not sure how long they were thinking of staying. According to the Daughter there is only a couple loads (back of van) in the old house. Maybe it will be done this week and I can call WeButUglyHouses or something. I know my Sis and BIL had ran comps, and were possibly interested in it to fic and re-sale, but the Wife is not happy about that idea. I'm sure it has to do with things that has gone on before... I am not expanding on it here.

It's around 1am now, and I am trying to figure out what to do to get sleepy. I've tried watching some shorter videos. Maybe I should try a movie on Netflix or Disney+. I honestly do not know what I am going to do.. just knowing that I feel so tired and not able to sleep, makes me feel angry. Maybe I should do a couple hot toddies each night before bed....

A Long Day is Here, Again

It's only 2:30 in the morning. What is so wrong with that? I can tell you. I'm not asleep. Haven't been able to fall asleep at all since I went to bed around 10:30. By midnight, or a bit after, I gave up lying there and played around on the computer for awhile. Yes, I'm still here. Not feeling tired. Thoughts doing laps inside my head like a Nascar race. So much on my mind.....

Later today, I am meeting with the siblings and RM to go through a few (?) of the photo albums RM has had, and now unpacked from her move. She had mentioned it being time for the three of us kids to go through and decide what ones we wanted for ourselves, and just help RM make space. That, and of course to carry on picture memories of family whether it included us in the picture or not. I'm not a big picture fan of having them taken of me, or even hanging on to them. I do not have the talent to take a "good picture" (either way)!

So, that will be a couple hours or so at least, if not longer. And me running on low sleep - if I get any tonight. I got a message later in the evening yesterday saying that we had to move it from RM's house to Sis'... which is fine by me. Sis is picking me up still since I don't have wheels. Whenever we finish there, my plans are to go with my brother back to his place, and pretty much just sort of hangout until late afternoon. He is doing a get-together retirement party for himself at the pub I am a regular at. He actually retired on the 22nd September, with 22 years in the Army Reserves at the rank of Captain.

That was supposed to start around 6, so maybe by 10 or so I will be ready to head home. Not sure if I will take an Uber, or have someone give me a ride. I know Brother won't be driving - which means his harpy of a wife will be there all evening. Maybe it will be later, because we will be pounding them back to ignore her. Maybe not.

That Early Wake Up is Terrible

I don't know what to do about my waking up early problems anymore. Tonight was the worse one yet. I went to bed about 9, and put up the book about 9:30. Awakened at 11, and not feeling the slightest sleepy got up, as the Wife was headed to bed. Now it is 1am and I still don't feel sleepy. Maybe I need to look into some over the counter sleeping pills. I know drinking would help me fall asleep easier, and able to sleep more through the night, but I don't know if I need that at the expense of my liver, because it would have to be a daily thing. At least it feels that way anymore. So that is not an option.

Nothing on schedule for this weekend. Hopefully will see the oldest Son at some point. We are changing car insurance companies and he needs to pick up his new insurance card. I suppose I could email him a copy, but I don't think he has a printer yet.

Might head up to the pub tomorrow for a bit. Maybe Sunday morning. I gave up on watching football pretty much this year. With the BLM anthem crap, and names on helmets... just too much stupid BS as far as I am concerned. Not even talking about Washington changing their name. But one of my buddies that I don't see often is still wanting to watch his Lions. He texted me last Sunday to meet him, but I had slept in real well, as I drank more than  I should have the night before. Maybe we will try again this week.

Becoming Good Friends ... and What The Heck Is Going On Now?

It is just after 2:00am here at the d00d residence. Why the heck am I still up? I dunno. I think it is my acquaintence that has bee visiting me at night usually around 3am or so, trying to become better friends with me by showing up earlier (which I do appreciate). But the not being able to sleep is probably worse than being woke up. At least when I woke up at odd hours, I could piddle around for an hour or so, and go back to sleep. Went to bed about 12'ish and tossed/turned until 1:30 before I figured it wasn't going to happen laying in bed.

I got up and wen to the study (because it is right next to the bedroom) and figured maybe some reading through some blogs and websites would help 'tire' me out. First one I come across is the Reverend Mother's blog (hint: Reverend Mother's Musings - see the list on the right side of this page). She surprised me a bit as she had a post from earlier on Sunday. I know Life can get busy for people, and the way things are right now, I am sure many have their minds on completely different matters.... but she had posted twice in less than a week.

'This should be interesting,' I thought to myself.

For me, it was. Interesting. A little intriguing (not multi-country spy travels kind). Needless to say, it sent me on a trip. A recovery trip (no, not for alcoholics) that I don't think is going to be able to be completed. I had a couple side-stops along the way (because that always makes trips more interesting) that were nice. New 'rest areas' that may be coming to my bookmarks bar in my browser soon.... or maybe better yet ... that list of blogs I read on the right side there ------>

Tomorrow, or rather later today, I am risking Life as I know it. While the Wife and I were talking prior to bed, kind of talking about things that need to get done, etc... you know... the "you've been married for years and you know it" kind of stuff. Either way I ended up making a list of food stuff that we could use if I am able to find them. If I can find them? Yeah. From what the Wife mentioned, with all this stupid hoarding crap going on, and now the delays in delivery to stores, etc, there are a few items she has not been able to get the past couple weeks.

Here is a good one. Please leave me a comment (can be anonymous if you want) of which of these items the stores in your area (or country - whatever) is also lacking:

Flour
Pasta (any pre-made type, including Ramen noodles)
Paper towels
Rice
Milk (this one we can get, but a week or so, couldn't find any for a few days)

Those were the big ones she told me to check on since I told her I needed to go to the store (I'm on the last dregs of my under arm deodorant). I added that maybe I could check the local 99cent store as well, because I have no idea what the boys will have for lunches this week. We usually get hot dogs there for a buck a pack. That, and 3-liter sodas, snack foods, and other grocery (which The Wife said we were okay on - you know canned stuff, etc - but not the snacks 'cause the boys and me know we are out). I think I will let the Middle Son drive me up to the stores... he would like the opportunity to use that driving permit some more. Probably be getting his license early this summer... there goes my insurance rates....

Alright. Feeling a little goofy and tired, but not enough to try laying back down yet. I will move on to something else to get sleepy.

The Struggle is Real

Well, it is good to see and know that I have survived another day of quarantine. I don't know how, but I think the drinks I had Monday evening helped.

I didn't have my seemingly, and hated, 330AM wake up this morning. I think because I went to bed about 1030 last night, read until about 12, then tossed and turned until almost 2AM. However, I was still up at 730AM thanks to the neighbors dog barking like crazy for 10 minutes. I almost went into the back yard just to see if someone was outside our bedroom, teasing the damn dog over the fence. It seemed he was right at our wall doing all the barking.

No trip across the Valley for now. Son left his trumpet at school, so won't be able to upgrade it, now that I know the details, until he can get access to it again. So we are looking like April 10th if not later.

Plans for today? I don't have any.Though, I am debating going to the store to get a bottle of whiskey... just to have something to sip on other than flavored water or soda. Depends on if I feel like getting more dressed than I am currently.

Just because I can, here is a pick of my Doodad that the Daughter sent late last night...

I don't know why the face... I bet her mother told her to make a face at Papaw..

Enjoy your Wednesday, and wash your hands.
