It's Working!!

Well, I have gotten a few responses from the public as to where they are located. Thanks to those three (Freddie, GuyK, and Eric). Now I just need all the rest of you to comment/email me.

It is Friday, and in typical Friday fashion, I am headed to the bar after work. I have already received the phone call from the buddy that he is out to "Kick my ass" at video golf once I get up there. So, I need to show the old man who the Master truly is, and reign for yet another year.

I have no plans for the NYE yet. I am thinking more and more of going to my friend's house, but not completely sure yet. All I know is some whiskey and/or scotch is going to be disappearing down my gullet. As Fat Bastard would say... "Get in me belly!"

Now, everyone who hasn't, drop down a post and answer the question. I am posting locations next week sometime, but not who lives in that location... in case some don't want people to know. I can respect that, I think... Unless the cooler weather here in the desert starts affecting my mentally. I know I am tired of the recent rain already...

Would you answer this?

What would you do for a Klondike bar? No, I am just kidding. For some damn reason I have that commercial running through my head today. No, the real question I have today is because I am curious as can be... I have one of those cluster maps at the bottom of the page, and I see so many red dots that it prompted me to think this one up...

Where are you accessing the site from, as far as city/state, or city/country? Leave a comment with you nick/handle/name. If you prefer to not let anyone know, you can email me at ralphd00d@aol.com

I know where many of you are situated (at least of those that comment) but if you could leave your answer, and your name/handle/nickname whatever, I want to take a poll of how many over the course of a let's say, a week. Then post results. Sounds like something interesting to do.

Life in general is going well. Work is slowly getting better, though I still have not gotten a check yet. No biggee...it's gonna happen soon! Kids are still busy playing with Christmas toys, and staying out of my hair...can't ask for more than that!

New Year's Eve is coming up and I have been invited to three places now. I don't know what to do. I definately am not traveling to all three throughout the course of the evening. I suppose I should go tot the one that has the most alcohol ... but is that fair? I would nopt be able to bring my kids to that one... but then, all my kids do on that holiday is watch movies up the the last 1/2 to watch the ball drop then off to bed. Decisions, decisions.

Anyways, I suppose I need to get ready for me to take my lunch hour now that I have wasted some time. Be sure to answer the question. I really am curious.

The day after ...

Today was the day after, until I got home and realized the clock had once again fooled me and slipped into another day. So, we'll pretend this very early hour is still the 26th....

I went to the Christmas Eve party at my friend's house. Nice affair, played "Dirty Santa for an hour, had lots to drink, and food - I could not understand why they put food out for 75 people! So I ate, and drank, and drank, and drank, and nibboled, and drank. I met several people I had only heard their names (my buddy & I go back about 12 years, but this is his first part I have been to).

Overall, for atmosphere, foiod and drink... I give 4 1/2 stars. The only thing I have to complain about, was there was more room outside on the extended patio than anywhere else, and even though they had a couple fire pits going, they did not spread the warmth too much (cuz them older ladies were crowding around them with their big butts) but the Jack I drank kept me decently warm, and attired.

Christmas was a doy my 4 children enjoyed. I have never heard the shout out with delight as I did this year, and we were skimpy due to money. The Wife scored some very nice jewelry from the kids (and an unnamed source ). Everyone was pleased through all 3 stops we made (in-laws, my parents, my sister's). I was actually surprised this year. My mom got me a pair of golfin sandals. Yes, sandals. I always play in them, hell I wear them whenever I am not at work, and she found a pair that are for golfing...got the spikes on them and all! Biggest surprise for me. I can't wait to try them out!

Hope all you, my esteemed readers and friends, had an enjoyable holiday, and if it is extended, hope you don't kill each other. Peace be to y'all and look forward to the this weekend. I know I will be about 4 days out reporting what I remember of it....

The Dreaded Time is At Hand ...

The Wife and kids are wrapping presents today. I am sitting here at the computer, obviously, since I am good and not wait til the last minute to do the wrapping. Tis the Eve of Christmas, and most of my Scrooge-like tendencies are starting to fade. I think it is the whiskey that makes me nice to people. I need to change drinks.

This afternoon we have to head over to the in-laws so the Wife can see one of her broithers that won't be there tomorrow. Then it is off to a party at another friend's house tonight. I'll have to rate that one later sometime after the 25th.

In the meantime, may you all have a wonderful time with family and friends tonight and tomorrow...

I watched a man rush onto our plane at the last minute before takeoff. Hespotted one of the few empty seats on board and silently sat down. Laterthat night, though, he seemed bothered as the woman next to him fidgeted andgot up frequently to use the bathroom. Still, the man never uttered a word.Feeling sorry for him, I quietly asked if he would like to move to anotherseat. "My wife's been annoying me for 20 years," he said with a chortle."There's no sense in separating us now."

More reasons for me to hate Christmas ...

I got off work tonight, about the usual time. I went to the place I usually hang out, "Jimbo's" is the name. I entertained myself with a few drinks (Jack with a Bud) and played a few games of pool with some of the gents I know there. About 8:30 I decided I was going to go just a mile up the street to another bar, Silver Fox by name, where they have karaoke at 9-close. I cruise on up the road, and come in the long-ways cross the parking lot to the corner bar.

As I am turning in to park, I see some younger "punks" starting to trade swings. I think to myself 'Do I wanna stay for this shit?' I pull in the parking spot. As soon as I shut the motor off, there comes a gunshot. I drop under the windshield view area.

I end up opening my door, and started heading towards the bar door, when this kid - literally a kid, who is grabbing his shoulder, and oaning starts coming at me. I am just barely out fo the car, and after hearing the gunshot, I ask him, 'Were you the one hit?' About that time I see the blood runing from under his hand, which is gripping his shoulder. I look around, see several "punks" running around, some for freedom, some fighting others, and hear the sirens of police cars on the way.

I quickly got this kid down on the ground by the car, grabbed his hand from his shoulder, and saw he had a wound of some type - I could not tell if it was a gunshot, or a knife wound, but it was bleeding. So I took his hand, and added mine to it and compressed against the wound (no back exit, only frontal). Whilst I am doing this, the first couple police cars come slamming into the parking lot, and I am yelling that they need to call 911 and get some medical help here. They were busy sorting out the other people fighting, but one officer came over, and took over my standing, and I walked towards the door to the bar, whilst watching the "main event" on the wall about 2 doors down.

They had one guy (whom I had seen punching another as I cruised in) spread-eagled on the wall, yelling at him to drop down to his knees. This punk, all he kept saying was 'Fuck you pigs!' and did not comply. I heard their warning, as I am sure he did, then they tasered him. Talk about a dead body drop... He fell straight back and ended up cracking his head open. Like a dead faint, flat on the back. The first ambulance had left with the other guy already, and now they were calling for a second one.

It's the 21st of Dec. Damn near the celebration of a religious event.

And I got blood dripping off one hand, watching someone get tasered, and needing a drink like you couldn't believe. At the same time, scared to get that drink, because, who knows how long the cops are gonna sit out there waiting for the drunks to leave...

Welcome to yet another reason to hate Christmas. And this is not in any way a story for Wednesday.... it's the damn truth.

Only 1 week til Christmas!!!

Yes, that time frame is upon us. Tonight, being 7 days out, I took full advantage of..I went to the bar I "normally" am at, and whoa, the gifts! I was drinking my normal rounds, then someone bought the house a round. KUDOS! Then someone else wanted to match them. More Kudos! And yet once again, someone else decided to grace the Christmas spirit, and yet another round went about. Somewhere about the 2nd round, my Wife called. She asked "should I put the dinner in the fridge?". The only obvious answer was "yes", and I stayed on, reading the book I bought today. I made it home about 12'ish, and the first thing I did was fire up the 'puter, but in checking in at home, the Wife asked "did you get enough?" Of course, I said no, but I was more than ready to head home. The Wife is waiting now patiently for me in bed, though she is asleep... women. You can only leave them. And I ain't leaving this one...she is too good for me.

So, here we be.Late at night, and I gotta work tomorrow. Sucks being me... wish I drank more... otherwise, see you sensibles people tomorrow.

Party # 3 ratings, and more!

Whew! It has taken me a couple days of recovery to get around to posting about party #3 (actually 2, but who is counting?). Party took place Saturday night at the home of one of my friends. My family was the first to arrive - we had to drop the Daughter off somewhere else to babysit, so the boys were with us. I promptly poured my Jack & Coke and the evening began. Food was out already, including one of my favorites - home-made cookies. Bonus points flew through out the evenign as many friends I knew, and a few new people were met. The bottle of Jack did not last long into the night, but the host was great and had several Budweisers on hand. That earned more bonus points, considering most of the guys I drink with do not drink regular Bud. I am not sure what time we left, but I know it was late. I give this party an easy 4 3/4 stars out of 5 due to great atmosphere, good food, and a fire going int he backyard to knock a bit of the chill off. Good Job Smitty and Sailyn!!!

Now it's Monday and the work day is almost over. I have spent most of the day trying to figure out a way to get more leads to work on.

If you know anyone wanting to refi their home, please call! We do loans in all 50 states!! 866-452-2262 x 158 and ask for Ralph! Debt consolidation, cash-out and rate/term are great laons to do!!!

Anyways, this is the last week before Christmas, and I know my wife is going to be busy doing last minute shopping. I guess that means I will have to be hoome in the evenings to watch the kids, instead of drinking, but tonight I am out. Til next time ...

Party Update #1

Last night's party was for my office. Took place at the Arrowhead Country Club, and denim was not allowed. That's right, I had to pull the one suit I own out of the mothballs. Thank goodness I have been losing some weight, otherwise I would have had to find aomething else to wear. My wife wore a VERY nice and sexy black dress with see-through lace across her cleavage. I was a bit taken back but was glad to show her off to the crowd.

Dinner was 3 stars. Salad, some dish with mushrooms, mashed potatoes, turkey, ham, cooked squash, and a roll was all that was available. I would have preferred fish or chicken, but wasn't given a choice. The turkey was very good tasting though, and I went back for seconds, but it was all gone. The owners of our branch allowed open bar, so I was able to save money. I think my final tally after three hours was 14 double Jacks for me, and 2 lemonades for the wife.

After dinner, we played "Dirty Santa" by drawing numbers. I, per my luck, recieved number 1, and had to go first. Overall there was a lot of booze being given out as gifts, and a lot of stealing of the booze as well. By 10 pm it was over and the wife and I were the first to leave. After all, Grandma was watching the kids, and it would be a half hour til we got to her place.

This is the third year (not in a row) out of the last 5 that the company has held their Christmas party at the country club. It is a nice venue, and generally has good food overall. Added features the enhance the party is the bar, especially when the owners pay for drinks. My final score for this 1st party of the season is a low 3 for repetition, lack of food choices, and dress requirements.

Plans have changed so I will not be attending the Wife's party, due to the time it starts. I will probably still be at work. Sucky, sucky, sucky. Saturday at my friend's house is the next one, and I know she will be reading anxiously for the rating and report for her party!!! In the mneantime, y'all have a good Friday, and I shall return later....

Let me tell you how happy I am this week is halfway over already.... or can you just guess... SLOW week at awork... sucks big time.

Soooo, nothing really new to write about today, so it will be short and sweet - besides I am heading to the bar in the next 25 minutes or so and doing some drinking... and I am going to enjoy it! Stress relievers here I come!!

Tomorrow starts the "week of parties" for Christmas. Yee haw. Updates will be forthcoming after each party. Except the Saturday one - that update may have to wait til Monday when I am sober again.

Gettin' short on the holiday...

Tuesday the 12th. What a fucking day. I spent the first hour and a half driving to the courthouse in downtown Phoenix, to take care of a citation and ticket I received back on Nov. 21. I had started my day at a local bar (Jimbo's) about 2pm, and omved to Swizzle about 6pm. About 11pm I decided to go home, so I did. Enroute, just a mile down the street was a mexican drive-thru, from which I decided to order some food. I pulled in and ordered 3 carna asada burritos, and a chorizo burrito (that is for the morning). My wife and I have a past history of loving to have a carna asada burrito late at night together, and I usually eat one on the road. The 3rd one was to go with the chorizo and be my breakfast in the morn.

So I opened the one I usually ate whilst drving home, and proceeded on my way, taking big bites as needed. I got about 2 miles closer to home - only about 2.5 miles to go - and the lights lit up behind me. Bottom line is my license plate lights are out. Bad news from the pull-over, I can't find my insurance. So today I went to court to show I have insurance, covering during that time period. Penalty waived. I showed proof I bought the lights to replace the burned out ones - penalty waived. No ticket. YEA!!!! But I had to pay $3 in parking to waive the tickets. Plus the 1 1/2 hours in time spent there in the courthouse.

So, I avoided a $112 fine for ther light. I have no clue about the insurance part, but it cost me $3 for parking. Did I win or not? If nothing else I got off easy. If I had not been eating the one burrito whilst enroute to home, and they pulled me over, they prolly would have smelt the tang of alcohol on me, especially for as long as I was drinking..... $3 is small cost.

But I did lose my Dale Jr little folding knife. I forgot to leave it in the car. I thought I took it out of my pocket, like the Redskins challenge coin, and the Tour coin my bro gave me from Iraq, and the nail clippers I carry. I got to just outside the doors to the courthouse, and double-checked myself, finding the knife in my pocket. FUCK! I don't have enough time to go back to the car (4 blocks away), and I can't really "hide" it here outside the courthouse.... in the trash it went. I wish I could have done that with the phone I have rather than my knife. Now I gotta ask Mom where she found it at...

Rest of the day went like the slow hell work has been for me. All my follow-ups, and new leads to call were not home, or were more than likely just not answering. and I worked 8 ours straight, since I wasted the first hour downtown... see, I can't win for nothing. Then after work, I decide to go to the bar, and the wife calls, bitching about how much money I am spending (less than $20 at that point)... and so I had to go home.

Tonight was not a good night. Wait, it gets better!! I hate Christmas. I am pretty sure I have said that in a post before, but in case I have not, now you know. I am not going to go inot details as to why, just know I do not care for this holiday. I have the Company party on Thurs., (where we have to bring a 'White Elephant' gift to) conveniently followed by the Wife's Company party on Friday. Joy.

Aside from that, my buddy and his wonderful significant other, are having a party Saturday, which I am actually looking forward too. You don't have to "Merry Christmas" the death outta everyone...we all know each other!!! I can't wait!!!! I just pray there is still enough Jack Daniels somewhere...

Okay, I know I can sound pathetic at times, but you have to realize what I have to put up at times, and the low toerance level I have for certain things. That is me. Otherwise, for now have a good time.... be back soon.

I need some painkillers ...

Typical Monday, and here I am feeling the effects of a well-spent weekend. I had taken a fall on Saturday night and brusied up the back a bit. Then on Sunday, I had gone to the Cardinals game, and my legs, not being used to walking 40 miles one way in the parking lot, are sorer than I can ever remember. I am alking around work like a broken down old man...after I spend 5 minutes getting the stiffness out of them from sitting so long. And the strongest pain meds I have at home are OTC ibuprofen, and some Fex-all 454. I am so screwed.

Christmas is obviously getting closer. The Wife and kids have already been alotting for a space for the damn tree in the living room. Usually I bitch if they put it up earlier than the 20th, but this year I might not say anything. Hell, I never go i that room anyways since they dominated the TV... I sit at the puter, reading my blogs, or watching DVDs. Speaking of, I saw "Superman Returns" and it wasn't too bad...wasn't spectacular neither. Decent family film.

Welp, my hips are stating to ache from sitting here as long as I have already. I am off to take a shower (a really hot one) and then off to bed.

A Quiet Friday Night

That is definately what tonight is going to be. I have done the husbandly thing, and the dinner out for the wife's birthday, and now am winding down by a "rush job" on the internet and topped off with "Superman Returns" then bed. Not a bad day at all.

A couple of my friends and I were going to get together Sunday morning after softball and set up at one of their houses for football that day. We are pretty low on cash, and it would be cheaper drinking at home than at the bar. So I get a call from one of them this morning. Seems he landed 3 free tickets to the Cardinals game Sunday afternoon. Now I am not a Cardinals fan, but I have not yet been out to see the new stadium since they opened up earlier this year. So the three of us are going now Sunday... cool beans. Can't beat a free ticket to a major sporting event.

Posts might not be happening from me this weekend depending on how busy I get. So y'all be sure to check back Monday, and have a good weekend!!

What a Wonderful Surprise!!

Today, well, let's say it was a long day at work. Nothing promising came up, or came together, but it was a long day.

I went out tonight, knowing it was one of my bestest's friend's birthday. Bad sentence, but he's a damn good friend for the last 10+ years. He turned the big 50 today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAN! I kow you ain't seeing this, but it don't matter.

Since I was out a bit later tonight than normal, due to celebrating with my buddy Dan. My daughter, the eldest of my children, gave me what I consider the gift of life! I came home later than normal...meaning after the kids were in bed, and the wife in bed... so I did the appropriate thing, I went to my bed, and engaged the Wife in conversation. This is important, as her birthday is tomorrow (now today the 8th) and I covered that well for the drunken status I was in... and I knew she knew I was that as well.

Anyhow, I let her know I am gonna check the email, plus, and she is okay with that... so I walk out to the 'puter. There's a book laying here, with a paper on top of it from my daughter. The note basically said:
Dad, here's this book. Read it quickly and I have the 2nd one for you as well, but I can't give it to you until you read this one.

Damn! I had finished the last book I had earlier today, then I get home and the daughter has another for me...and it is nice and thick. I know she has it from the HS library, but I don't care. I am already about 20 pages into it, and I expect to have the 2nd book she has within the next day or so. The Daughter has become a life saver in reading material. I am so glad I share with her...

Christmas is coming. My posts are going to be coming fewer and farther between. I hate Christmas. I am the SCROOGE that everyone wants to be. For me, Christmas is a time for dying, as in the last three years I have lost my grandmother, an uncle, and a god-parent during this time. I try to be upbeat and jovial for the children, but otherwise... I hate this holiday worse than Martin Luther King day... a whole 'nother story.

What the Blankety-blank-blank!

I wrote today's post earlier on today, whilst I was at work, not making any money, whilst things were deader than my great grandmother. I emailed my post home, so all I would have to do is cut & paste and be done, however... there's always that one little thing that pops up. I had a comment. It had something to do about the posting of a comment to the blog, for a particular entry. They had mentioned having problems posting to here.

Now, I am a very trying type of person, and more than I should, I try to make evreyone happy. I know you cannot do that, in total theory, but in that one catagory, I am optimistic. Usually I am a pessimist by nature... after all, per Murphy's law, an optimist is NEVER pleasantly surprised!

On to the matter at hand. I do not know why there was a problem to comment here, perhaps, a little insight via my email ralphd00d@aol.com would be in order, so maybe I can figure out what I have set wrong on the site, or whatever. Please use this option if you need, and if you don't need, and just want to write me, that's fine too... I guess. So, I know it is late on Wednesday, but the story is still here... read below, and let me know. So, a few hours earlier....

We are going to do today’s post from work, if I can get the damn e-mail to send it to my home address in time to post it today that is. Since I have nothing else to do at the moment at work.

I was on my way in to work this morning and heard a song I had not heard in a few years. It has always been one of my favorites. Mike and the Mechanics "The Living Years". Man, with no control the tears just started down my face, so that by the time I got to work my eyes are all red and puffy. I could just see my boss saying something like "Late night out last night?"

So I am sitting here thinking of what other songs do I get all teary eyed about…. And this is what I have come up with so far.

Sgt. Barry Sadler – "Ballad of the Green Beret" – This one gets me going because it was one that my Dad played all the time. It brings back memories of him.

Mark Chestnutt – "Thank God for Believers" – This one I actually sing, for my wife because she’s "stronger than the 90 proof, I’ve sent coursing through my veins".

I can’t think of any others off the top of my head, but I am sure there are at least one or two more. While I was sitting here trying to think of some others, I did remember a few that I had not heard in quite awhile that I miss, like the Don Williams duet "If I Needed You". I got that one stuck in my head now… which ain’t too bad a thing. Be cool if I could get it on karaoke, and find someone to sing it with me.

Hear ye and Here ye be, come on over to the story tree! Yes, it is Wednesday and time for another installment in the realm of stories. Take a read, and see what you think.

Frankfort, Indiana has several older buildings in the "Courthouse Square" area. Many of the buildings are from the 1920’s or so, and some have been restored to keep that look. One such building located a couple blocks to the west of the courthouse, was the public library. This was a huge building on almost a complete block of land, and had lush green lawns with trees and benches scattered throughout. My 9th birthday was my first trip into the mysterious depths of this landmark. My Dad had given me an Adult library card, meaning complete access to everything available. For a 9 year old, it’s a ticket to the exotic world of adult literature.

My early visits consisted of shyly going up the huge curving stairway to the second floor, and veer right to the Juvenile book area. This was the best place for me to start, and I read plenty just sitting there in beanbags, or stretched out on the couch. Very rarely did anyone ever venture into my world in this section. Maybe once in a great while another youth (who surely did not have the Adult card) would come in and select a couple books then leave. The librarians would stop by once an hour to be sure I was fine, and if I needed any help. By four o’clock, I was usually ready to head home, and would take one or two books to check out for the next couple of days. Then I would be back, wondering about the Adult section.

I never was sure what the librarians would say if I were to just go straight to the adult areas. I imagined embarrassment if I were to be carded, or even rejected, and the card be taken away. Or worse, they compile a list of adult books I perused or checked-out and presented it to my Dad so he would be aware of the material I was reading. Would they monitor what I even looked up in the card catalog? What if they caught me with something "Mature" that kids shouldn’t be looking at? Would I be banned from the library? What would my Dad say? These worries clouded my mind every time I thought about using that access.

Finally the day came when I had no choice but to venture into the world of Adult Literature. I strolled into the library, nonchalantly was the best I could describe my steps. I placed the few books I had last checked out into the return bin, and took a quick glance around. I only saw the one librarian (there were usually two working at a time, and sometimes a third that was part-time) and she seemed busy checking in returns, or preparing to shelve books. Either way her attention seemed diverted. I walked on past her desk and headed immediately to the Fiction section. Paperbacks were there in front, where I could be seen from the desk, so I took my time appearing to browse through the selections, keeping a wary eye out for the librarian.

She glanced up in my direction. I froze. She got up and started walking over in my direction. What was I to do? I furtively looked for somewhere to run, but the only out I had was deeper into the library. I heard her steps across the tiled floor grow louder, then stop behind me. Here was the moment I had been dreading since I planned this venture.

"Is there anything I can help you find?" She asked me.
"No. I am just looking." I replied, my voice cracking out of the dry throat.
"You usually read books on science fiction and fantasy in the juvenile section, don’t you?" Again with a question, and she remembered I regularly was upstairs. Was this a preparatory question prior to checking my library card?

"Yeah. But I have read most of what interests me there, so I came down here to find some more." Geez! I sound like an idiot.

"Come over to this section," she says as she turns and walks over a few rows of books. "This is the adult sci-fi area. These two shelving units listed alphabetically by author, and around on the other side you’ll find the paperbacks. Does that help?" A smile appears on her face as she folds her hands. I looked at her, and I swear I felt like I was being tested. Did I know the proper response to her encoded request for a pass phrase? Could it truly be this difficult?

"Yeah. I hadn’t gotten that far yet." No shit, Sherlock. I think she knew how far you had gotten. You only have been in here five minutes. I stand there, waiting anxiously for he next step in this crazy dance.

"If you need any more help, you can ask me anytime." Another smile. Then she turned and headed past me back to her desk. I followed her with my eyes, until I saw her sit down and once again started on whatever she had been doing. Wow! That was it!?! The Adult world was now mine to explore! Greedily I stepped over to the books and started browsing.

After several hours of browsing, and re-browsing, I had selected a few books. There are no comfy looking sitting arrangements in here though, just wooden tables and chairs. I head towards the stairway, when the other librarian appears heading towards me on the stairs.

"Finding ever thing okay?" What is up with the smiles?
"Yeah. I am just going upstairs for comfortable seating to read for awhile." Quick, dodge the second attack!

"Okay. See you when you are ready to check-out." She moves on past, and I run up the remaining steps.

Later that afternoon, I steadily walked to the check out counter and the librarian came over to stamp the cards and register my name. I casually handed over my card, the regular white one (no yellow for "kids only" books). She quickly checked out my selections, never once making a list of titles, or giving me any looks. I tossed them into the duffel bag and went out the door as fast as I could. I did it! Whoo! Adult books were now available to me!

Every trip I made back always had me downstairs in the adult areas. Be it Fiction, or sci-fi, westerns or whatever. The only time I got questioned was when I started reading Mack Bolan books, and that was eased over with a simple "Not as brutal as some of the westerns I have read".

After a few years, I moved out of state, and gotten a library card elsewhere. Even when I took my daughter, years ago, to get her first card, they never once asked if she should have that access. But I remember this story every time I walk into a library, and always do a look around for a librarian, as she may prevent me from the Adult area.

Alright folks. I think that should wrap it up for today. I am headed off to the bar for a few drinks and then off to bed after that. (edit - and yes I did.)

Man, I hate being sick with a cold. Right now I have been fighting this one for over a week, and decided it was time to take extreme action. I have spent yesterday, and most of today so far, doing nothing but rest/sleep/nap in bed, drinking plenty of fluid, have the meds and vitamins on timed schedules, but I still am not feeling better. And tomorrw I jave no choice but to go back to work....URGH! If the congestion would end, I can deal with the sneezing and runny nose!!!

Obviously my weekend was not a ton of fun. Played golf on Saturday and won a "training tool" to help my drives (shows you how bad our score was). Then yesterday stayed in bed. Finally watched the "Da Vinci Code". I definately preferred the book, and now I here they are talking about doing the prequel "Angels & Demons" into a movie. I dunno about that... Here's the joke. Have a good one y'all!

A man drove he and his 12 year old son to the country one Saturday for his son's first deer hunt. The man intended to go to an old farmer who he had know when he was a boy and ask him permission to hunt on his land. They arrived at the farm just after noon. The boy stayed in the car as the man went up to talk to the old farmer. The old farmer was happy to see the man and was happy to have he and his son hunt on his place.

The old farmer also ask the man to do him a favor. He explained that his mule, which was standing out in front of the house, was very old and would never make it through the coming winter. He ask the man if he would please shoot the mule for him, as he couldn't bear to do it himself. He said, just shoot him and I'll drag him off with the tractor later. Sure the man replied, no problem. As he walked back to the car the man decided to play a joke on his son.

He got into the car with a disgusted look on his face, slammed the door and beat his fist on the steering wheel a couple of times. I can't believe it, that old man has deer all over this place that he doesn't hunt and he won't allow us to hunt them either. We drove all this way for nothing.I'll show that old fool. The man then grabbed his rifle, jumped out of the car, and shot the old mule dead.

Just as he was turning to see his son's reaction he heard BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, from his son's side of the car.His son yelled, We showed him dad, you killed his mule, and I got his bull and two cows. Let's get out of here.

Using gutskins of animals for rubbers

Damn, that does sound a bit disgusting for today's society, but that is truly what they did in the days prior to the modern day condom. And waht's worse, was they were told to "wash them out" so that they could be re-used! I wonder what Sheep intestine, sewed o one end, felt like...and I know that sounds sick, but can you imnagine how the female felt?!?

Anyways, it is late Saturday, I had a nice round of golf today. Work sucks, but I have no care to talk about it today. I am getting ready to sit down and watch "DaVinci Code", then I will probably sit and watch "Stripes" with the older boy. We had a blast watching "Spaceballs" last night after everyone went to bed!

The youngest is fine so far. He has his cardio appt set for 1/11/07 - earliest we could get him in. Meantime I ain't worried.

Tomorrow is morning at the Church of Softball and Beer, then I think the bar for the first round of games. At that point I think I am coming home to rest. I have been fighting a cold for the last 4 days, and I am at the point of bed rest or hack a lung all over. I hate being sick. I feel worthless and can't do anything.

Hope y'all are healthy, and not in the bad weathersweeping he middle of the nation!

Some things in life just PISS a person off

That's right! Read that title and I know, that most of ya know, it happens. Like that double post I did the other day. DangBlame It!!! I even tried to erase the other post, but I couldn't figure out how, but it was more that I didn't know how. I could find noe edit to delete function. That's the bad of finding a new place, and learning to work it!

Meantimes, I ain't got too much to spout about today. My biggest bitch today, is FUCKING STUPID PEOPLE!!!! I am in the refi business. I got someone CALLING US to refi. No prob. They had done a debt consolidation about a year and a half ago, on and adjustable mortgage. Now she wants to go to a fixed mortgage, lower her rate and monthly payment. I seearched half the day, found her a killer deal, and she didn't like it. Said her monthly payment would be too high. I told her to not take out the extra 20K she wanted then. No go. I am ready to bang my hed in the wall trying to explain to her, the lower the loan, the lower your payment. But she wants the cash out, and really wants more, but can't afford it....ARGH~!!!!!!!! BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!
Anger Anger Anger... I am calming down....

Ah! And to top it all...I have come down with a cold....in Arizona. Beats the 20+ inches of snow in Oklahoma though!

Thanks to a lot of the "downtime" I have at work, I have been abole to come up with next Wednesday's story. I know yer anxious, but you'll just have to wait!

No new "news" on the youngest and his heart murmur. We are still trying to get him to the cardio Dr. One weird note...since I didn't read back if I mentioned it, my mom told me I had a heart murmur at that age as well, but I turned out ok. Well, normal in appearances anyways. The rest is something you get when you get to know me. The damn "N" on my keyboard is failing. I keep having to edit my writing to be sure that the proper place has an N. Time for a ew keyboard!!!!

I won't be posting for a couple of days. I am busy between work and golf on Saturday, that I don't think I will have time...unless I am utterly exhausted or drunk, or both, and the you kow my rules... try not to do this when I am that way, though it rarely stops me. Int he menatimes, y'all have fun, and I will be back soon!
